What a great place to stop and have lunch. We had a drone project a couple miles down the road, and decided to grab lunch, and glad we did, we all got burgers and not one complaint, My girlfriend got a milk shake to go, it was one of the best milkshakes we’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend have a meal here, nice little diner feel and food. We will definitely be back if we are in that area again.

Absolutely amazing experience. As soon as you walk in, you know the food and service is going to be phenomenal. From the greeting, to the table, the entire experience shows true southern hospitality.

This place was exactly as the name implies… downhome. It is a little downhome restaurant with really good home cooked food. I’ve only had the breakfast, but their gravy and biscuits tasted exactly like my grandmother’s tasted. And she passed away about 15 years ago, so i never thought I’d get to taste those gravy and biscuits again. So that was definitely a nice surprise. The place was quiet, clean, and the waitress was sweet as she could be. I will be paying this place another visit.

Stopped in for a late afternoon early evening dinner. And it wasn’t busy yet. The coffee was fresh and hot. The tossed salad is pretty big. We were not in any kind of hurry and had plenty of time to chat and finish our salads before our meals arrived. The meat loaf and hamburger steak were good. The sides were also good, green beans, mashed potatoes, and pickled eggs. The young waitress was very friendly and had plenty of time to chat with us. We also got a chance to meet and chat with the owner. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable dinner time. It is a nice cozy local restaurant. “Two thumbs up”!

This place was very busy the day we went because of the Tomato Festival, but that did not stop the good service here. They know how to handle it.
Very nice old fashioned place. Nice and calm. Great service, food was very good. The fish was yummy, the slaw was very good, the hush puppies tasted good but they needed a little more onion. The personnel were excellent. Very attentive, orders were correct and quick to our table. (Thank you kitchen staff) Whenever we are in that area again, you can bet we will stop there again. We will tell everyone we know to eat at Down Home.

I CAN EAT 3 WHOLE, HUGE, WARM, BUTTERY, SYRUPY, LIGHT & FLUFFY PANCAKES! Idk what it is…but, Good Lord Almighty had something to do with whoever it was to come up with this recipe!!!!

All the food is homemade. Outstanding meatloaf (I tried to get the recipe but unable). Cornbread was if my grandma had made it. Biscuits & Gravy – the real deal. This restaurant is the cornerstone of the community. Local conversation. I had all my meals here during a recent trip. Highly recommended.
