This place gives me memories of where I grew up. Buss-up shot Roti was spectacular as well as both the curry goat and chicken. My wife loved the pumpkin too! Definitely will be repeat visitors!

I LOVE this place, and I have been several times now. It is such a welcome addition to the culinary scene in Plainfield NJ. We moved here from Boston and had a Roti shop down the street from us there so when this came to Plainfield, I was so very happy. And I have not been disappointed! In my times I have been there I have had chicken roti, shrimp roti, doubles, and sorrel. There are many things they have added to the menu that I want to try. The service is so friendly and helpful and just talking about it makes me want to go there again as soon as possible. I’ve been to many roti shops including some in the Caribbean and Down D Island Roti Shop does not disappoint.

Amazing! I ordered doubles with chicken and one with shrimp. I loved it. This is the closest place to buy Roti other than Brooklyn. I love Trini food, Im Dominican and I love to try different foods from different cultures. The taste and spices is 10 out of 10! I ordered the Trinidad Roti as well, big portions pictured here. I can’t wait to try their curry duck! We need more Roti spots in NJ. Very polite and friendly. Please go visit it won’t disapoint.

The Best! Hands down! I heard about a Trini roti shop in the neighborhood, and I was so happy to go and check it out since it’s not many trini style caribbean restaurants around the area. The place was very clean and inviting. The customer service was remarkable, and I enjoyed the experience. I ordered a chicken buss-up and my lady had a chicken dhal purri. The skin for the buss up was so soft and the dhal puri was very tasty. The chick peas was nice and seasoned. The food tasted like a bite from home.’Trinidad that is’ chicken well seasoned and the portion size was very good. How can I forget that tasty tamarind sauce. Everything was 10/10, and I would definitely go back. Happy to have this amazing eats in the neighborhood so I don’t have to go all the way to New York.

Went here about a month ago with a friend. The food was fantastic and flavorful. Goat was amazing. The spices and herbs really came together. I am not a fan of pumpkin until I tried it here. I was amazed at how good pumpkin is when cooked down and given the right spices. The owners were great! Definitely would go back

My parents are from Trinidad and I’m originally from Brooklyn. I drove by and saw the roti shop and said I must come back. This place is only a few minutes from me. The food was great. I had a doubles with Chana and tambrand sauce and a Shrimp Roti. Even my very picky 8 year old loved it. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes on the menu. I no longer have to go to Brooklyn for my Roti fix. Thank you. And I immediately told my Trini friends they should go check this place out.

Newly opened in Plainfield, and the food/service is great! They also have some amazing juices they make daily, but you have to get there before they run out. Overall a great experience I’ll recommend to friends and family.
