Tried Dough Mama Pizzeria and it absolutely lived up to the hype.
We ordered the traditional wings with their house sauce and the hot honey pizza with red sauce. Both were excellent. The wings were crispy and flavorful, and the pizza had the perfect balance of sweet and heat with a great New York-style crust.What really stands out is the sense of community. The pizza here totally hit the spot! We took it to the beach and it was perfect New York-style, flavorful, and we loved adding ricotta. The salad wasn’t our fave (a bit too much arugula), but that pizza? So good. Even the ranch was great. Simple, satisfying, and exactly what we needed for a beach night.

I walk in and it seemed BUSY!! TIKTOK did it’s thing!! The girl at the counter was acknowledging walk ups, making wing orders, and answering phone. The two chefs in the back were making pizzas like the pros they are. I wanted their 2 slices and a beer ($14 deal) but they ran out of pizza, no prob. I got a house blonde, garlic knots and wings traditional. She said here’s your beer hang out and give me 10 for the rest. They have a cute outside patio and indoor dinning. Indoor TV had sports, movie and a kid friendly show. After scoping out the patio, I came back inside and she spotted me sitting down apologized for the wait and said we got more slices if you want to take a look. I thought she would have forgotten. I got a slice of meat lovers and she brought it to me. ☺️ Hot Honey is amazing. Great meal after a trip to the aquarium.

Plenty of choices for the pizza-by-the-slice! I got the hot honey pepperoni and it was pretty good. The pizza was thrown into the oven to be reheated before being served and they came out slight crispy but still a little doughy because they’re kinda thick for a NY slice. The taste is still good though. I really enjoyed the slight kick of the hot honey and it paired well with the dollops of ricotta.
They also have beers on tap, wings (half off on Wednesdays) and garlic knots.

Came in with my daughter and felt instantly welcomed. Super easy, friendly vibe. The hot honey pizza was the standout, perfectly crispy with just the right amount of heat and sweetness. One of those places that feels local, cozy, and worth coming back to.

Very cute and nice spot in La Jolla shores. The inside decorations are cool, very nice vibe. They have a lot of pizza options and some of them you can order slice. We tried a Spicy Hawaiian, it is not spicy tho, but the flavor is right on, the crust is crispy. I usually don’t eat Hawaiian style pizza but this one is nice.

The pizza was ok. I liked the thin crust. Some of the employees seemed stressed and under pressure. I felt rushed. I asked for a dark beer and she didn’t know what I meant. Didn’t care for the loudness and people bringing their dogs in. They were not service animals. Just not sanitary. Weird hot topic vibe inside. I didn’t care for the worker that pet the dog and went right back to work. There was also confusion about the price of garlic knots.

We ordered delivery after a long day of travel. The ordering process was seamless, the updates on readiness were perfect and timely and it arrived early. The food was absolutely delicious. DO NOT MISS those garlic knots. We ordered 3 orders for 8 people and we ate all of them. We also ordered a classic pepperoni and artichoke pizza and they were perfection. Also, they have an option to add extra side sauces and they have so many varieties. The hot honey was amazing on everything. The only down side is that we live too far away to enjoy it regularly. Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!!!

We checked out this pizzeria for the first time while exploring La Jolla, and it definitely has that cool, urban, hippie vibe. We went for two 18-inch pizzas, and both were seriously good. The only bummer? The wait—over 30 minutes. Still, worth it if you’re not in a rush!
