I know some people complain about the price, but I prefer to pay a little more for great ingredients and consistently good food than save a few dollars on something mediocre. Dough Head has always been worth it to me.
Please make sure to check out their salads. The beet salad is my favorite, and it genuinely makes my day when I see it on the menu. Their desserts are great too.
Delivery has always been super quick in my experience, and my order arrives hot and as it should. After ordering this many times without a single bad experience, they’ve definitely earned my loyalty.
For people who leave negative reviews without giving Dough Head a chance to address and to remedy the complaints, it is not fair to Dough Head. No one is perfect. If you called them directly, I’m pretty sure they’d make it right. Given the high quality of ingredients and the overall consistency of their pizzas, it is clear that they strive for perfection and would happily correct your order.
For me, Dough Head is my go-to spot. I’ve tried a lot of pizza around the city, and nothing else really compares
That said, the pricing is tough to get past. Spending $30+ on a single pizza is hard to justify when there are other nearby spots where you can get two pizzas for the same price. While the quality here is high, pizza is still pizza at the end of the day, and for how often I like to order it, the cost makes this more of an occasional splurge than a regular go-to.
We placed a takeout order and were told about a 30-minute wait, which ended up being pretty accurate. Pickup was smooth and easy, and the location is super convenient—right near Pat’s and Geno’s—making it an easy stop if you’re already in the area.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend trying Dough Head at least once because the pizza really is good and a bit different from the usual. Whether it becomes a repeat spot depends on how you feel about the price. For me, if it were a little more affordable, I’d probably be ordering from here weekly or at least monthly. As it stands now, it’s more of a one-and-done experience unless prices change.
Homemade broccoli cheddar soup as a side was a good surprise.
But the chicken is in such a need of up upgraded microwave and new supplier. I tried the chicken bites again and they remain nasty little bits of mostly breading, and the convection microwave they are cooked in doesn’t do anything but create hospital grade steamed chicken. Even the sauce dumped on top- you can tell the sauce is haphazardly thrown on as the last step, and not actually microwaved with the chicken. You see the lines on the chicken where the sauce bottle passed over some chicken and skipped other pieces.
Get the pizza. Avoid the sides.
