The food was really tasty. I ordered the onion rings and a medium pizza.
The beer battered onion rings were crisp and plentiful. The pizza was the best I’ve experienced in NC thus far.

Everything was good no complaints. I wouldn’t say this was an exceptional pizza or atmosphere. More of a place I’d take the kids for pizza or maybe watch a game but nothing bad to say about my experience here

Good crust and quality ingredients go a long way; however, for me and my family, it is the sauce. Of the number of times we have ordered pizza from Dough Boys, the sauce is basically non-existent. We have tried asking for extra sauce, and it’s never more than negligible. We have tried asking for double sauce, and still the sauce is nowhere to be found. Is there actually sauce on Dough Boys pizza? As much as you pay for a pizza here, you would hope that you could get exactly what you asked for.

Finally! I’ve been searching for really good pizza near Cherokee and I’d tried a few places between there and Waynesville and not really found it yet. Until now. Doughboys is a great space to grab a pie and drink. The building inside is super casual and kind of industrial cool with the vibe. I ordered a small Supreme to go and the online ordering was easy as pie and the food was great! Lots of fresh toppings, great red sauce for the base and quality cheese make for a great pie. It was so good, I’m going back tonight.

Highly recommend the special of the week. Absolutely crushing the pizza flavor game. Crust is always fantastic. This week was an American Pickle. So delicious!

If the only thing I was rating this on was the taste of the food that I had, I would give it 10+ Stars. The pizza is thin crust, but it wasn’t really crispy so it was really difficult to pick up because it was very floppy. This might be because it sat in the box when it was brought over to me and maybe that softened the crust, you know the heat and the moisture can do that. It sat in the box for a few because I had to go back up to the bar because the waitress that brought me my food forgot my parmesan garlic sauce which I ordered as well. Yes it was an upcharge but it was a decent amount and it was real garlic parmesan, it was so good. For once the upcharge for dipping sauce was worth it.
Anyway, really large slices and kind of floppy so it was difficult to eat without it falling everywhere. But there’s no getting around it, if you’re going to eat a pizza here and you’re not going to use a fork and knife, which they do bring you, it’s going to drip grease all over your hands, it’s going to fall all over the place and it’s going to be really good.

Just look at the menu, look at the ingredients. That was what intrigued me enough to come to a place like this which is not usually the type of vibe I go for, being someone who solo travels, doesn’t really follow college football or other sports, and doesn’t drink. The ingredients in the pizzas are top-notch and they do take a while to make as they have to go through a pizza oven obviously.
What really took away from the experience for me, was not only the process to order my food, but anytime I had a question or needed something. There are waitresses here that bring your order to you and clean the tables but they don’t take your order. You have to go to the bar and place your order. Again if you’re not into the bar scene like I’m not, it’s just not the most fun to have to go to the bar area to place an order.

All that aside I was impressed with the food but I doubt I would ever come back if I’m in the area again unless I’m with friends.

Really cool place in downtown Waynesville. First time for me, got a few pizza pies and wings. High quality and of course delicious! This was a take out order and it was very easy to do. next time taking the family for dining in. Amazing beer tap selection as well!

We drove past Dough Boys dozens if not hundreds of times before I had both the timing and opportunity to head in there with the kids. The parking lot is always packed and people are often standing around outside, presumably waiting for tables.

When you get inside you’ll realize that it’s mostly a counter-service pizza bar. Which would be fine except what ends up happening is the tables are first-come first-serve. So you could order a pizza and stand there with a number for 20 minutes while other people in the crowd snipe tables as they walk in and your group may be stuck with nowhere to sit when your pizza is ready. I saw it happen a few times where people got their pizza, shrugged, and took it home.

That works fine for some but not for me. We got a table and the pizza was pretty good, but I didn’t care for the competition on tables like that. Nor did I enjoy having patrons ask me any time I finished a slice if we were leaving soon.

I’ve attempted to go back a few times, but it’s just too packed and we go somewhere else.

Also, you’re going to smell awful just walking in there. There is a smoky haze in the dining area that comes from the kitchen. It’s an unpleasant aroma, not as bad as cigarette smell, but it’s still there and I definitely needed a shower and to throw my clothes in the wash to clear it.

This place is very lively, and looks like a lot of fun on a Friday night, I came in for take out. I actually live 4 blocks away, building a house, not quite done, so going out for take out or dinner is very special. So, three times in a row I find the staff , ” not friendly”, a bit on the snobby side, don’t even ask how you are or nothing…too bad . The pizza is really good, first time we came it had tons of pepperoni, getting less and less each time. When you can’t afford to spend $27 on a pizza. Little Cesar’s is okay at 1/3 the cost and 200% more customer service. I hope when we move into our house and show up for dinner someone will smile and greet us instead of herd us like a cow…great pizza needs other work

I was craving some pizza and chicken wings, and this place was the perfect description for what I wanted! We ordered at the bar, sat at our table, and had our food brought to us. We got 6 Garlic Parmesan chicken wings and a Large build your own pizza with mozzarella, feta cheese, and cupped pepperoni. The food was fantastic, and a very reasonable price. The wings were very delicious, and there was a lot of sauce on them and at the bottom of the basket. The pizza was savory, and the crust was nice and crispy. I definitely recommend trying them out!
