Good bar grub – their pizza is sourced from some of the best in New Haven – but the Chai Martini is next level. I’m a tea guy but I like espresso martinis, and this just has chai instead which is top notch delicious. A nice drink in a Shelton dive, but the bartenders and regulars are also some of the nicest people. Come by!

Double J’s is my all time favorite neighborhood bar! The new owners have given the place a beautiful face lift (equipped with a huge TV for all your sports viewing desires) but have kept the friendly and inviting feel. Not to mention, the cheapest drinks in town with great weekly happy hours.

Anna’s Place is a Valley hidden gem. Not a large noisy bar by any means, but cozy & friendly. The bartenders are quite nice, and if Anna is working you will be treated very well. They do not offer hot food, but you are allowed to bring in some takeout if you want. They have a dart board, and the Jukebox is always playing an eclectic mix of genres. Patrons are a mix of Valley folks young & old, and everyone gets along. They offer Keno, which is fun, and have the games on TV as well. Ample parking available across the street in the post office lot. Prices are a bit higher but the atmosphere is worth it.
