I got the creamy chicken dosa and it was DELICIOUS. We also got chilli paneer and egg dosa. Lots of variety.
The freshness of the ingredients – the delicately sautéed onions, chillies, sitting on top of a warm crispy but soft inside potatoes all wrapped up within the goodness that is a dosa! Accompanied with a fresh coconut chutney, tomato chutney and a sambar which is mild with a sweetness in it
I recommend the Mylapore dosa
Plan ahead, weekends can be pretty busy!
Highly recommended dishes:
Erra Thokku Malli – perfectly cooked prawns in rich South Indian spices; absolutely flavorful and unique.
️ Chilli Chicken – one of the best versions I’ve had; crispy, spicy, and full of flavor.
Matar Paneer – creamy, comforting, and very well balanced for vegetarians.
Gongura Chicken and House Special Chicken Curry – both standout dishes with distinct Andhra-style flavors.
Don’t miss their Gulab Jamun for dessert – soft, warm, and melts in your mouth!
Overall, Dosa Point is a great spot for anyone looking for delicious, authentic Indian food with a wide range of choices. Highly recommend it for both casual dinners and family outings.
Dosa points dosas are naturally gluten free and were light, crispy and airy. They offer a few halal items on the menu including the chicken, as stated by the waitress/cash register and on Yelp.
The food was delicious filling and felt like a home cooked meal.
Butter chicken, gobi Manchurian, shrimp biryani and dosas were all delicious and felt like a home cooked South Indian meal.
My go-to dosa is the Chettinadu Chicken Dosa, which blends a great mix of spices with a perfectly crisped dosa. Some great appetizers include the Kale Pakoras and various Chaat. For drinks, I find myself enjoying either chai, Thumbs Up Indian Cola, or their fresh mango lassi with bits of fresh mint. For dessert, I recommend getting their carrot halwa.
Food: we had idli sambar, plain dosa sambar, samosa plate (2 pieces) and tandoori paneer skewers. Decent taste and had the right flavors, sambar could have been a bit more spicy. The paneer wasn’t cooked in a tandoor. Didn’t have as much charring as I had imagined.
Service: overall the staff was nice and polite but as soon as they got busy our order took sometime to come out of the kitchen while other customers ate, paid and left.
I think the portion of the dishes were also good. Didn’t feel too full after sharing the dishes but that means you need to eat more food
Will try this place again.
Pros:
– The staff were very friendly.
– The service was very quick.
– Gobi Manchurian was very good, must try.
Cons:
– The restaurant was too cold. A little unbearable at times.
– The dosa flavour was a little mild, maybe a little bland too.
