Reviews
We finally answered the call of the neighborhood buzz and paid a visit to Dosa Grill in East Windsor, and let me tell you, this place is the real deal—mostly!
From the moment you step in, you can tell the owners take pride in their space. The restaurant is super clean, and I mean spotless. Even the restrooms—the true test of any establishment—were pristine. Peeking into the kitchen confirmed the vibe; it was beautiful and hygienic. A major five stars for cleanliness and service right off the bat!
Now, let’s talk about the food. Our family feast kicked off with Mini Idlis with Ghee, a good portion size that tasted exactly as they should—fluffy and comforting.
The Gobhi 65 was a tasty, if slightly over-fried, appetizer. Still, it was a step up from what you’d find at other local spots!
The Dosa Game is STRONG!
But the absolute stars of the show? The dosas. If you only order one thing, make it a dosa! We tried the Gongura Dosa and the Andhra Dosa, and both were enormous, delightfully crispy, and packed with flavor. The secret is definitely in their batter; it’s top-notch and makes their dosas utterly delicious. Highly recommend their dosas—they are truly the best in the area.
A Plea to the Kitchen Gods…
Here’s the one area that needs a glow-up: the sambar and chutneys.
Dear Dosa Grill, you have the cleanest restaurant, the best service, and a fantastic dosa batter… but your sides are holding you back! The chutneys lacked a distinct, strong flavor, and the sambar was heavy on the lentil—tasting more like a dal makhani than the tangy, spiced broth we crave.
I strongly recommend that the chefs revamp their chutney and sambar recipes. Elevate that side-game to match the quality of your incredible dosas!
Dosa Grill East Windsor has stellar service, a beautiful, clean environment, and some of the most delicious dosas around. With a few tweaks to those crucial accompanying dips, they have the potential to become the absolute best South Indian restaurant in our area. We’ll definitely be back for another round of their amazing dosas!
We went for a dinner on Thursday as they serve buffet dinnner “dosa night “ you get unlimited dosa served as per your choice.
The part which did not tick for us was the make of dosa. We were expecting better. The buffet spread was decent, but it wasn’t great.
Staff is polite. Place is neat and clean. Not worth for the price we paid
Dosa Grill in East Windsor is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors! Their dosas are perfectly crispy, the chutneys and sambar are full of flavor, and the overall quality of food is top-notch.
One dish that absolutely stands out is their Chilli Parota—it’s simply amazing! The flavors are bold, the texture is just right, and the spice level is perfect for those who enjoy a bit of heat. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting.
A big shoutout to Deeraj, the place manager, for his exceptional hospitality. He ensures that every guest has a great experience, making the service just as impressive as the food.
Highly recommend Dosa Grill for an authentic and delicious South Indian meal!
The decor is very nice, with the chairs appearing to be made from a pale wood and the tables being a deep mahogany-like color. The walls are white, and the lighting is neutral, with some paintings on the wall. It’s very classy-looking, but still lends itself to a casual atmosphere, great for a wide range of occasions, from bringing family to friends or even a date.
The food comes out quickly and we never felt rushed to get through our dinner, despite how busy the restaurant was. I couldn’t ask for better.
We ordered poori bhaji and yogurt rice for the kids and chilli garlic noodles and malgudi onion rava masala dosa for adults.
We enjoyed everything, we look forward to visit the place again. My son even mentioned that it was best cure rice ever.
