Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your naaaame And they’re always glad you caaaame
I don’t know how Luis and Kathy did it, but they somehow figured out the recipe to create the perfect restaurant.
Dos Mundos (means two worlds) is Peruvian cuisine with an Asian flair.
Not sure what to try first?
Close your eyes and point to an-y-thing on the menu and I assure you, you’ll be blown away.
Not even kidding.
The hospitality is unmatched.
The ambiance is charming.
The vibe feels like home.
I recommend the duck and my wife insists you try the chicken and rice with “green sauce.”
Buen Provecho!

Came here with a friend after a long work day and needed a drink. Ordered a Peruvian Sunset, the corn ribs appetizer and the Ceviche Nikkei and it was great! Food was fresh and flavorful. Service was amazing, drinks were refilled quickly, and the head chef even came to check on us! 10/10 will be coming back again.

I visited with my friend and we had wonderful experience! The service was amazing! The drinks, fire. The food, delicious. The chef even came out and explained the food! This fusion restaurant is one of the best, if not the best I’ve ever had. Needless to say, I ate and left satisfied.

If I lived closer this would be a spot I would frequent. The steam bun with the pork belly was some of the best I had. I would reorder the ramen as I thought it was so flavorful. The duck was amazing as well, my wife didn’t enjoy it as much as it requires a certain taste. The honey tea was delicious as well, if we are in the area again, I would take the time to enjoy a meal here again! The lava cake was good, but I am not a heavy chocolate person, so I wish I ordered something else, but I can’t complain about it!

We really wanted to love Dos Mundos. The concept and plating were beautiful, but overall most dishes felt like they were just one ingredient away from greatness.

We started with the corn ribs, wings (half Viet Honey, half Smokey Anticuchos), and lomo tartare. The corn ribs were good, nicely cooked but just missing a bit of spice or heat to make them pop. The wings were flavorful on the outside, but the seasoning didn’t penetrate past the skin. The lomo tartare’s crispy rice base was too thick, which ended up muting the flavors of the beef rather than complementing them.

For entrées, the NY strip was cooked perfectly with a great sear and temperature, but the chimichurri felt like it was missing something, maybe an umami or acid note to tie it together. The ceviche Nikkei was fresh and nicely presented, but it tasted like it needed more time to marinate. Letting it sit in the sauce for a few minutes before eating helped develop the flavor.

The cocktails were solid. The Lychee Martini leaned too sweet for my taste, but the Summer in Saigon was well balanced and refreshing.

Service was polite but indifferent. Our server mostly just dropped the plates off without much explanation about the dishes or the concept. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, a few people at the bar, mostly empty until around 8 PM. The menu was surprisingly limited, and when I asked if it was seasonal, I was told it wasn’t, which was unexpected for a concept-driven spot like this.

Also, our bill included a “tourism tax” (didn’t realize Simpsonville was a tourist destination, color me surprised) and a credit card fee.

Overall, Dos Mundos has great potential and beautiful presentation, but most dishes just need a small flavor tweak or extra touch and a little more attention to the overall guest experience to reach the next level.

Udon and Rice dishes were fantastic, and the plantains and bau appetizer were great as well. Good beer/wine selection too. I would try a signature cocktail next time for sure. Several tofu opinions for vegetarians. Our server Melanie was so helpful in explaining the menu and helping us choose some delicious sauces to go with our food.

What I liked about this restaurant:
-The interior and atmosphere of the restaurant.
-Food that looks good
What I would like to suggest:
-Remove the “Pho” sign on the window that doesn’t sell. (and Wing)
-The water smelled and tasted weird. I think the cups weren’t cleaned very well.

As a Pho lover, I visited this restaurant because of the sign, which they don’t sell. “No Pho”
The food looked good, but it was a bit salty for us. The Ramen was good. The servers were very friendly.

This place just did a soft opening a couple weeks ago, they don’t even have their sign up yet. This is the first time I’ve seen a Peruvian-Asian fusion restaurant, and it was excellent. The owner stopped by and talked for a minute, and you could see his enthusiasm. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the lighting and atmosphere in the place was warm and comfortable. The food was realllllly good! I hope this place finds the attention it deserves.
