Reviews
The restaurant was cozy and lovely, with nice dove and wood colored interior and warm yellow lights. We’ve already been to Hero Ranch and Flowers, which are owned by the same owner, and this place definitely didn’t disappoint! The staffs were very welcoming and helpful, and of course, the food was absolutely amazing. The Mexican scent and rich flavor were nicely blended in all dishes, the ceviche sampler was our favorite. We’ll definitely come back soon!!
The host and server were very friendly and awesome to us. Definitely a great service experience.
We started the night with cocktails. Unfortunately the bar tonight was not up to the task. I had a margarita which was watery and lacked any discernable tequila flavor. It seemed like the sweet and sour mix was off that night. My friend has the Don’t Be A Prick cocktail which was better but not by much. The girls ordered 2 martinis slightly dirty with stuffed bleu cheese olives. Unfortunately the martinis came out very dirty and the olives were served without bleu cheese. We asked again and they brought out bleu cheese very quickly which was nice but the olives were stale and not very appetizing. So we started ordering rounds of Fortaleza Anejo which were amazing and were served with a cinnamon spiced orange garnish.
For appetizers we had the chicken taquitos, the Hamachi crudo, the papas fritas and the chips and guac. The crudo and the guac were really good.
For entrées we had the chili verde, the chili colorado, the chicken tacos, the carne tacos and the pastor tacos. We liked the pastor tacos the best.
For dessert we had the white donkey cake. In total the food was ok, since we liked better than others.
I definitely would come back to try it again.
The shrimp fajitas significantly exceeded my expectations in both flavor and portion sizes. They wonderfully balanced the natural flavors of peppers, onions, and shrimp but also the char from the kitchen.
Only had capacity for a single cocktail, but everyone around me had ordered 2-3 drinks apiece while craving more.
The food is suuuuuper delicious, prices are more than reasonable and a very gentle service.
We’ve only been once, but are planning to go back again this week. Alan, the manager of HRK, Flowers, and now Dos Burros, stopped by our table for a chat, which was really nice. Before we left, Angelo, the owner also stopped by for a quick hello and to make sure we’d had a good experience.
The service was great, the food was amazing, and the ambiance (including the music) was relaxing and enjoyable. The menu is still apparently limited, and will be expanding soon, but we found plenty of options. The shrimp and tomato ceviche was outstanding, as well as the trio of salsas and chips. The chips are perfect. For our entrees we ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, which were the best we’ve had in years.
I recommend making a reservation. We went on a Tuesday night and it was very busy.
Dos Burros may be a little pricier because it’s a high end Mexican restaurant, but it’s absolutely delicious. Highly, highly recommend.
