Expensive dive. When they hand you a canned coke with a cup of ice turn back now. Place was extremely warm and uncomfortable. The window air conditioner was not cooling properly. It was in the high 80s to 90 in there. Place is run down and appears they are trying to run it cheap as possible.
Dorothy is very nice. She is the waitress, the cook, the door greeter, the phone operator, cashier all while she cooks. We were the only ones ordering and eating and 20 mins in she confirmed our order to get started. Food delivered at 50 minute mark.
No menus, a board on the wall with no prices. No descriptions of the foods with different names. I asked the prices of our entrees 9.99 each, coffee 1.79, 1 can coke? I asked did hash browns come with my omelette? She said I can give you hash browns. So roughly a $22 dollar meal was $32 plus tip. The coke or hash browns were expensive! I don’t know because there was no prices and no menu!
The food was just ok. Eatable. The hash browns were freshly grated, hard and chewy tasted like plastic. She came out talking to others while holding the raw potatoes she was cutting. The omelette had a inch thick of cheese and barely any sausage. My coke had.already melted down in the heat and was water logged.
Her husband in a tank top was pulling double duty as well, running to the store, sitting with friends, answering phone, picking his teeth with a toothpick and tended to our food as well and delivering it all to our table while never washing his hands. Dorothy did wash her hands each time she did something else. A customer who also had already eaten was allowed to freely use the ice machine putting his hands in it.
The place gave off a nasty vibe. The sugar on our table was big round rocks in the sugar holder lol.I’ll try to load the picture. It says famous for breakfast but I’m not sure it means famous for good food because it was not. Beware.

Casual Observations
For the prices they charge, they need to have better quality food. The interior of the establishment is nasty at best.

I know they’re trying to go for a “down home”look, but layers of dust on virtually everything within the establishment is a bit much for me… I like a clean establishment.

In all honesty, considering how much dust is covering practically every single thing in the establishment… It makes me wonder as to how long it has been since the health department has done an inspection on this business.

Considering what the dining room area looks like as far as cleanliness goes which is horrible,, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like.

I personally live less than three minutes from this business, but I will not patronize them due to the uncleanliness of the business.

Love Dorothy’s restaurant!! If you’re craving a home cooked meal, it’s a must stop. My favorite breakfast would be biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon. As for lunch, they make the best bacon cheeseburgers around.
