Reviews
The salmon pressed sushi was amazing. Just the right amount of flavor, and a perfect start to the meal. After that, we shared the beef bibimbap rice dish, along with the chicken karaage.
The service was great, with the staff being never far away, but not pressuring as you enjoy conversation and food with friends.
The restaurant has a cool urban. Look with various seating and interesting decor.
Although you may have to look to find street parking, it is well worth the effort for a great dining experience.
I love its cool, rustic Tokyo style and it always brings me back to the two wonderful weeks that we spent in Japan and three days in Tokyo, as does the excellent food. The staff is fun and always offers great service. As an artist, I appreciate the stack of retro tv’s playing static in the corner.
The food is absolutely killer and I always feel like I am back in Japan, which brings me great joy. The chicken karage appetizer is excellent and we never fail to order it. I had the jewelry box rice, which reminded me of a dish that I loved in one of the cities that we visited in Japan. My wife ordered the mapo ramen with a crazy-delicious, jammy ramen egg in it. It was so good that she ordered another egg.
I also tried Dorinku’s Caesar, which comes with five different appetizers in an edible bowl, perched on top of its tall mug. I highly recommend it, as you get to sample all of their appetizers with your drink with its flavourful rim.
All in all, a fun, authentic Japanese restaurant that offers all of the wonderful food that Japan has to offer.
Pro tip: pick up their Shaka Shaka seasoning, it’s umami rich and great on everything from popcorn to pierogis. We took two back home with us.
