Had such a nice lunch here! Bookmarked it for our quick trip to Edmonton. Arrived around their 11:30 am opening on a Saturday. Restaurant wasn’t too busy (at most 4-5 tables were filled over lunch). Their Vegan Ramen ($16.80) was delicious. The chili oil added very subtle heat to the otherwise creamy broth, which was perfect for me as I’m not big on spicy food. Maybe ask for more if you want a bit more of a kick! Loved the seafood mushrooms included. The addition of some other veggies like cooked corn or eggplant might elevate the bowl a bit more (to join the existing onions, cabbage, sprouts and chives). Still an excellent bowl of ramen!

The Pork Katsu Toji Lunch Set ($19.80) was also satisfying. Tender pork cutlet, and the savory soup it was simmered in (with egg and green onion) had a unique consistency. Very flavourful! Even the miso soup felt elevated with small pieces of eggplant in addition to the usual tofu and green onions. The daikon pickles cut into some of the richness of the cutlet. Great service. Would recommend!

This was highly recommended by Edmonton locals and I can see why. You’re transported to Osaka with this establishment. You got the plastic food display, the Kirin vending machine, lanterns, Osaka street food, neon signs and of course the running man!

I really liked the menu this place had. But of course, I had to go with the Black Garlic Miso Ramen ($17.8) and a Kanpõ ($14) non alcoholic cocktail.

Ok right off, I STRONGLY disliked the Kanpõ. I took one sip and never tried it again. The best way to describe it as was rum taste and feel without the alcohol. Threw me off and I apologetically sent it back. Server was kind to take it off my bill.

My ramen was really good! Presentation wise, it was lacking some finesse. The noodles were not straightened and laid in the broth and the toppings looked like they were literally tossed on. My pork while good wasn’t the most tender. It was a good dish, just didn’t like up to the expecting of soft, tender pork or beautiful presentation. I would still recommend it because it was delicious.

Service was good, however they were extremely busy and I felt they didn’t have time to check on me. To add, I got my food and my drink at the same time.

If I were to return, I would try something new. I am very impressed with the decor and the food that they offer. This is the closest you’ll get to Osaka in Alberta. I recommend this unique restaurant if you want the taste and vibe Osaka, Japan.

Osaka Dorinku on Jasper Ave blends a glimmering walk-up presence with standout design and excellent service. A nine-piece appetizer spread, sushi, ramen served at the perfect temperature, warm sake, and a matcha crème brûlée all landed just right. Original, distinctive, and quietly playful—including a secret private room if you know where to look—do you?

Dorinku on Jasper Avenue delivers that downtown Edmonton spark the moment you arrive—curious, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. Inside, the décor rewards attention, with details worth noticing from the front window through to the bathrooms. Service remained friendly, efficient, and well paced throughout the visit. The menu balances variety and execution beautifully, spanning sushi, ramen, and a well-composed appetizer set, paired with sake that feels especially right on a cold, windy evening and finished with a refined matcha crème brûlée. When the restaurant fills, a stylish back room opens with a noticeably different atmosphere, and there’s also a discreet private room—ideal for 4–8 guests—offering full privacy, karaoke, and a PS4.

I can’t say enough nice things about the downtown Dorinku. My girlfriend and I hit this place regularly for dinner, and the food is always great, service is always incredible, and atmosphere is my jam, with a unique mix of Asian music and hip-hop. It provides more of a fine dining experience compared t the Whyte Ave location, which I love. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re missing out on one of the best restaurants in all of Edmonton.

Our family enjoyed our food. The creamy udon dish literally boiled down in front of us from inside a heated stone bowl. The presentation was excellent and fun, while the dish was very tasty. The Sushi and Ramen dishes were also very good. We enjoyed their lemonades as well!

Our server was very helpful and polite providing us with attentive and prompt service. We will visit again.

Food is delicious and great vibe. The chicken karaage is a crowd favourite and comes with generously large pieces! Get the pressed sushi, the boat is perfect for 3-4 people. The Naminooto sake is so refreshing and easy to drink!

The service was wonderful — we had everything we needed without even having to ask. The food was absolutely delicious, and the seating was spacious and comfortable.

I usually avoid tuna because I’m quite sensitive to even mild fishy taste, but their tuna tataki completely changed my mind. It was so fresh and flavorful!

The soda was very good too

We were also given a cozy corner seat, which was really thoughtful since we came with our kids, who can get a bit loud at times.

The last time we tried to visit on a weekend evening, they were fully booked. This time, we arrived just before they opened at 4pm and had no trouble getting a table. We’ll definitely plan to come earlier on our future visits!

I really enjoyed the food here! The food came out fresh, hot, delicious and super satisfying. We had the chicken karaage, wagyu beef udon and the pressed beef sushi, which I will say all came out so delicious! Me and my small party were able to have a nice conversation without having to yell or whisper, enjoy the good food and atmosphere, and be served by very solid staff members.

Only gripe would be about portion size but that’s only due to the sheer amount I eat normally, so it’s actually not a problem. Excellent experience.

The food is always fresh and delicious. I dont think I’ve ever had a bad thing here. Which is expected given the higher prices. The atmosphere is really cool with the themeing on point. Service is always friendly and excellent. Can be a touch slow depending on how busy they are. Overall definitely a reccomend!

Convenient downtown location. Good food, reasonable pricing. Service is just ok!

Creamy truffle udon, Chicken karaage , Takoyaki and sushi was great; Bibimbap needed a side sauce and was little burnt in extremely hot pot.
