This place came recommended so we decided to give it a shot finally. Although the service was good, the food wasn’t. The veggie omelette was fine but the potatoes tasted funky. I felt like the oil was off somehow. My husband was told his steak and eggs would also come with potatoes but when he got the plate, it had tomato slices instead which was very strange. It was a blessing in a way given how we didn’t like the potatoes which I got.

My perfectly cooked eggs and fresh potatoes made my day. I almost didn’t stay because of the line up but I’m glad I waited. Bacon isn’t paper thin, sausages and prameal seared and juicy. They happened to be short staffed that day so I was worried the food quality and service would suffer but they absolutely delivered. The servers were just as friendly and hospitable and food on par. Only like three places in the city for breakfast but this is the only one that checks all the boxes for me. Perfect eggs and fresh potatoes, and great service!

Great diner, literally a classic. Wish I had found it sooner. So 50s style, lots of space, full of people. Prompt, friendly service. There’s even a drivethru and if you want a breakfast sandwich, they have it here too (I haven’t tried it, just saw it on their menu).
I had the eggs benny which was great. Nice, thick bacon. Good hollandaise sauce.
This place is right in a plaza on Stone Church. I’d seen it before a few times but this was my first time going in and it’s going to be a regular place for me. I updated the photos in the front of the place and hopefully the ones I took inside give a feel for how big it is inside, as I didn’t really see this from other ones posted.

The Donut Diner on Stone Church rd is a busy place and for good reason. They have awesome breakfast!
Service is great and my meal was very good. The bacon was done how I wanted it and the eggs were also perfect with all the whites cooked but the yolk beautifully creamy.
I also took home some of their donuts which were also great! Check this place out!

This place is amazing. The staff are so friendly and funny. The food was amazing. We didn’t have to wait for a table. We got served right away and the food came out fast. No complaints about food. The coffee was great too.

Donut Diner restaurants are a blast from Southern Ontario’s past (1990s) as almost all of them have disappeared from the landscape.
This is one of the last (if not THE last), that has the iconic black and white checkered floors and red booth accents and keeps the original name, and still serves donuts as well as other food items.
I’ve been here before and I would say that the service here is usually pretty good, (sometimes a bit touch and go… Either quite attentive or quite inattentive)
They have a decently sized menu for the type of restaurant, for breakfast lunch dinner or snacks.
Coffee was good, donuts were good, breakfast was good.
On a non-food note, I really appreciated how adamant they were about patrons not leaving their dogs in the car,
I really liked that they had signage about this.
(I hope it was not prompted because of a previous tragedy.)

Went in for a late breakfast. Had heard many good things about this place.
Service fast, efficient, and friendly.
Very clean.
Ordered a tea and standard breakfast, 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and toast.
Tea bag in an envelope inside the cup,hot water in little pot. Never ever a good sign.
Not really impressed with the eggs, or the bacon. Why can’t they butter and slice the toast the way you would if you were going to make a sandwich?
Overall overrated.
If food is fuel than it’s ok. If you want something prepared with some care, then not here.

There were about two other tables occupied when we walked in. We got some eggs, bacon, sausages & fish and chips. The eggs were perfectly done. The potatoes were a bit on the dry side, but the kids did not enjoy their fish as the oil it was cooked in tasted stale.
The server was very polite, but I wish she had checked in on us periodically – I had to get her attention for coffee refills and the bill. The kids got donuts with their meals, too – topping the experience!
Overall, it was a good experience, and we will return if we are in the neighborhood.

First time at Donut Diner today, great experience. Food was good and Stef was great! Very welcoming and a great dinner experience. Only thing I would mention was the hollandaise sauce was a little off but amazing atmosphere. Will go back!

Love this place! Might be the best diner in Hamilton. The servers are incredibly kind and the food is great. The tuna melt is my favourite, and my kid loves the fish and chips off their excellent kids menu.
