Great service and delicious coffee! They were nice and made a made me a mocha that was less sweet and offered to alter it if it wasn’t what I was looking for. The chocolate chip muffin was also really good. I liked the atmosphere and there were plenty of comfortable seating areas. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.

Very nice and cozy! Great coffee! Whether you’re looking for a quiet place or busy socializing area to sit and sip, sit inside or out (upstairs), at a table or a couch they have it! When we left, my husband said, “Now that’s an authentic coffeehouse!”.

Donkey Coffee is hands-down one of the best cafés I’ve ever visited. I ordered a Cuban coffee that was every bit as rich and flavorful as anything I’ve had in the Cuban district of Key West, Florida — maybe even better! To top it off, the date and oat pastry bar was out of this world — perfectly balanced, lightly sweet, and absolutely delicious.
The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and authentically local — the kind of spot that makes you want to linger for hours. The staff were friendly, upbeat, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure every guest had a great experience.
Five stars all the way around. If you’re in Athens, this is a must-visit!

Very cozy atmosphere. The coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had. Their mochas are very sweet! Their food is delicious. Mostly breakfast-esqe items. There is a small selection of board games to play. There’s a good amount of seating and several couches that are very squishy. Staff is always super friendly too!

Donkey is top notch! If your visiting your student or haven’t been, everything about donkey is what you love in your local coffee house. Friendly, attentive staff, delicious drinks and food and excellent, quiet, welcoming atmosphere. I come here every time i visit

Great coffee, but this place oozes character. Lots of nooks and alcoves to tuck yourself into for a chat or to study, I would have loved a coffee shop like this in college. Makes me want to come back to Athens.

The atmosphere is nice yet the iced latte was not good, in my opinion. it tasted like milk with syrup, no coffee was detected. We asked the barista to get another shot of espresso and they luckily were kind to do so!

I absolutely love this place and wish we had something akin in Columbus. It has that chill, relaxing, old-school coffee shop kind of vibe that is conducive to working, meeting, or just chiling for all walks of life. It’s HUGE with two levels, but dim and spread out enough to get in your own zone. It has a quirky and nostalgic atmosphere (couches, wooden tables, old school record player), but clearly has modern touches and is very clean. It’s not pretentious or uppity like a lot of coffee shops have become. I also really liked their eco-friendly touches (reusable stir sticks, compostable cups, etc). I haven’t been yet, but I love that they do live events and are open in the evening! If you’re around Hocking Hills, it is worth going out of your way to come here.
