This is an incredibly amazing place. I’m honestly ready to buy an apartment nearby just to have the chance to dine here more often. The service is excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious. We were extremely satisfied and truly impressed. Will back here over and over again

Thoroughly brilliant meal last night at Don Ya. The only problem we had was that there was too much to choose from. Service was attentive. All the food we had was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and will definitely be back in the future.

I was pleasantly surprised by Don Ya Sushi in Glasgow last night. From the very first bite, it was clear that the food was prepared with care and confidence, and every dish we tried was genuinely delicious.

The real standouts were the salmon jalapeño and yellowtail jalapeño — beautifully balanced, fresh, and vibrant, with just the right touch of heat to enhance the fish rather than overpower it. The hand rolls were another highlight: crisp, fresh, and generously filled — simple, well-executed, and deeply satisfying.

We also really enjoyed the sake selection, which complemented the food perfectly, and it was great to see Japanese beers included, such as Kirin, adding an authentic and thoughtful touch to the drinks menu.

Overall, Don Ya Sushi exceeded expectations. It’s a place that quietly delivers excellent quality without fuss, and one I’d happily return to. A lovely surprise and a welcome addition to Glasgow’s sushi scene.

An unexpected wonderful find that I can’t recommend enough. We were looking for somewhere to eat in Glasgow (that wasn’t pizza and pasta) before going to the pantomime and we couldn’t have done better. This is a superb little restaurant tucked away down a side street. The food was so fresh and tasty and we couldn’t fault the service. It was quiet when we were there, but this was around 5pm. However I would recommend anyone looking for a really well done meal in an easy setting to go there. We will definitely be back.

Best Japanese food in Glasgow! Maybe even in the uk, as so far other restaurants have only let me down. My husband and I used to live in Australia where Japanese food is amazing and we had been yearning for an authentic and fresh meal. This restaurant has satisfied every craving. Beautifully prepared fresh food, really kind staff and so affordable! We have walked away feeling happy and full. We will be back 🙂

This is definitely a hidden gem. It’s a little smaller than expected, so if you want to make sure you get a table, I’d book in advance. I took my partner here for our anniversary. We wanted something different for a change. We were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to our seats. Good sized menu with plenty of choice. The food itself was nicely presented. As for the taste ? Delicious loved every bite. Again, the lady who greeted us also served us, and she was fantastic and very friendly. Its lovely quiet atmosphere, which is a nice change. All in 10/10, I would highly recommend it.
