Don Tako in Old San Juan delivers bold Puerto Rican tacos, fresh ingredients, and fast friendly service. Lively vibe, great prices, and flavors that keep you coming back. A must-stop spot! So good! PR
Went there for dinner which did not disappoint. Friendly staff and quick service. Wait time was not long at all. I had a seafood taco and 3 shrimp tacos which were delicious.

Service was very good. The waitress was very attentive all the time.
The outside sitting area needs some improvement.
And the food taste had no flavor and wasn’t made like a real Mexican taco at all.

It’s a very busy restaurant but you get served pretty quickly. They have both inside and outside sitting area. Dress code might be enforced if sitting inside.
They honestly didn’t say anything to me personally but I saw their signs.
I had the chicken tacos. They were okay, nothing out of the ordinary.
If I come back, I would probably try something different.

I have a registered service dog. I used to come eat at Don Tako every time we came into San Juan via a flight or cruise ship. She is a very visible marked service animal. Today that ended. My service dog was refused. They said she could not enter their establishment. I informed them she is a working dog. They still refused. The “manager” said it didn’t matter she was not allowed to enter the building. Today my loyalty to Don Tako ended! Beware if you have a service animal they refuse to allow a WORKING service animal into their business. Completely illegal and against American with Disability Act (ADA). I am attaching a photo of her visible markings.

Best tacos I’ve had in a long time. However, margaritas were mid. We ordered “margaritas” but were charged for Patron margaritas. They did not taste like it.

The service, food and atmosphere here is all very pleasant. The waitress made the meal that much more enjoyable. She was knowledgeable and attentive with a friendly demeanor. I enjoyed the chicken quesadilla and the birrias were bursting with flavor.

Eating at Don Tako was the highlight of my visit to Puerto Rico. The food was spectacular and authentic, and we all absolutely loved our meals. I got the ground beef burrito with smothered cheese, which was superb, and my wife got the chicken fajitas which had the most flavorful chicken I’ve ever tasted. My kids also loved their meals, which were the cheese quesadilla and the chicken tenders.
The staff were super friendly, especially Genesis who was our server. She was so kind and sweet, and very helpful and friendly. If I ever return to Puerto Rico, I will be stopping for lunch at Don Tako without a doubt.

Cold food, unseasoned and slow service. The tacos came without pico de gallo or guacamole. It is just terrible. Where is the Mexican guy in the kitchen?
During fiestas San Sebastian they don’t let customers to use their bathroom.

Our server legitimately snatched us off the street.
Weekdays a lot of old town closes early. We walked past several places that were cleaning out at 8PM.
As we turned the corner and started walking past a lively outdoor eating section. “Are you hungry? Here’s our menu.”
A quick scan and decided to give it a try. We were seated inside and our server was “always around”. Inside might as well be outside as the temperature, humidity, and bugs are the same.
My margarita hit the spot. And my steak quesadilla was much better than anything I had eaten that week. Additional sauces are a nice addition. Lee liked her plate.
Feed and on our way quickly. Should probably plan on a stay outside “where the part is at.”

We had the nachos al patron with 3 meats. It was delicious. The music and atmosphere was festive. We were pleasantly surprised.
