I would love to give this location 5 stars. But the price points are just a little crazy. The location is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have a large menu to choose from. The grilled chicken, achiote chicken, and shrimp were amazing, but charging 4 dollars for one mini taco doesn’t sit well with me. The more tacos you buy the cheaper it is per taco so take that into account. I still recommend this location, but I’ll probably get a burrito next time. It would be significantly more food for the same price as 3 mini tacos.

I came to Don Ramon’s for the first time last night. I was very surprised by how good my tacos were. But first—the store was immaculately clean, and they had a hand wash station, self-service water station, and salsa bar with 6 different homemade salsas! Epic!
I ordered a quesabirria and a shredded beef taco. The consommé was really good, and the quesabirria was amazing! Paired with the chunky red and the salsa verde—it was awesome. The shredded beef taco was pretty good, too, and went really well with the regular red salsa.
Overall, great first experience at this taco shop and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of the food and salsas. I definitely recommend it!
Updated: I came back recently to try out the veggie burrito. It was pretty good, though I liked the tacos I ordered previously a bit more. It was fresh, but just not as flavorful as I’d have preferred. I need to try out a few other items still, especially the breakfast burrito and California burrito.

My daughter and I enjoyed a Surf California Burrito. It had a good mix of Shrimp and Asada with Cheese, Salsa and Fries. The Burrito was really large and steaming hot. We took a red salsa and Guacamole Salsa. The red salsa was spicy with a good taste. The Guacamole salsa was very mild and I didn’t get much taste from it. The Burrito was $12. What was shocking were the tacos and priced at $6.09/each. Overall, the food we had was great and the price point was great as well.

I love this place. The food is good and the prices are great for the amount of food they give you. After they closed Trujillos on El Cajon Blvd [it was better than the one by state, just saying], Don Roman is the place to go for a burrito. Quesa California for the win. They have soft drinks, agua frescas and bottled/canned drinks. Their guac salsa is spicy and they actually put the carrots and jalapenos to get yourself which is a 10/10 as most places make you pay for them. The staff is always nice, service is fast, and the food fresh. Must try!!

Ordered the Surf ‘turf platter w/all the toppings. They give you a lot! Very good flavor, the beef is tender & the shrimp is grilled. All on a bed of fries. Small seating area but got fortunate to get a table. Excellent service, served w/a smile .

I ordered delivery from here for lunch. Chicken enchiladas and “chips with cheese and guacamole” through Uber Eats. The enchiladas are barely that. Chicken is so greasy and there is no edible sauce, hardly visible. The side of refried beans were the only thing I finished.

If this was not intended to have the cheese and guac on the SIDE, it should have been written as nachos. One would always assume this would be chips with a queso and guac separately on the side. These went straight in the trash.

Don Roman has one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had, the hashbrown burrito is the perfect ratio of eggs, cheese, meat, and crispy delicious hashbrowns. Every time I visit the staff are always very kind and helpful, and their salsa selection is wide and has something for everyone. Give this place a shot!

THE best authentic food in the area. Everything was delicious. The birria is fantastic, the albondigas was just spicy enough and plenty flavorful, and the chamango was the best one I’ve ever had- fresh and sweet, with plenty of chamoy. It’s amazing food and well worth the price. I highly recommend it to everyone!

The food here is delicious. The fact that they have started cleaning with Fabugrosso has turned me completely off. That cleaner overtakes the place and gives me a headache the moment I walk in. It’s disgusting. I want to smell your food not your cleaner. I just stopped in and there were people sitting in there eating and the cashier was mopping the floor with fabuloso. So extremely rude to do that while people are trying to eat. I could not even stay so I went somewhere else to eat. I had been getting food here once a week but unfortunately you have lost a customer.
