KENDALL, FL – In a city obsessed with velvet ropes and tasting menus, Don Pan International Bakery in Kendall plays a different game — and wins. Tucked along SW 88th Street in Kendall, this polished neighborhood bakery-café doesn’t shout for attention. It doesn’t need to. The locals already know.
.
Step inside and you’re greeted by the warm smell of fresh bread and espresso — the kind of aroma that could broker peace treaties. The interior is modern but unfussy: clean lines, well-lit pastry cases gleaming like jewelry counters, and a relaxed café layout that encourages lingering. There’s a steady rhythm to the place. Families hover over trays of pastelitos, couples lean in over cappuccinos, and solo regulars command their corner tables like seasoned diplomats of caffeine.
The crowd is stylish but unpretentious—think pressed linen shirts, gold watches, and immaculate sneakers. Service is swift, confident, and bilingual, delivered with that Miami blend of warmth and efficiency. Orders move quickly, even during weekend rush hour, and the staff handles the chaos with the calm of seasoned pros.

Let’s talk about the goods. The guava and cheese pastelito is non-negotiable. Buttery, flaky layers shatter delicately at first bite, giving way to molten guava sweetness and rich cream cheese. It’s indulgent without being cloying — a masterclass in balance.
.
Then there’s the pan con bistec. This isn’t just a sandwich; it’s a statement. Thinly sliced, perfectly seasoned steak tucked into Cuban bread with crisp lettuce, tomato, and a slick of savory sauce. It’s hearty, juicy, and deeply satisfying — the sort of thing you crave at 10 a.m. and again at midnight.
.
And the tres leches dessert? Ridiculously good. Moist without collapsing into mush, sweet but not saccharine, finished with a cloud of whipped topping that feels almost architectural in its precision. Pair it with a strong cafecito and you’ve got Miami on a plate.

Here’s the pleasant surprise: luxury flavor without the luxury markup. Most pastries hover in the low single digits, and even the more substantial sandwiches won’t wreck your wallet. For the quality and portion size, it’s exceptional value — proof that five-star experiences don’t always require a sommelier.

Don Pan International Bakery in Kendall delivers craftsmanship, comfort, and charisma in equal measure. It’s refined without being fussy, indulgent without excess, and consistently excellent. In a city that thrives on spectacle, this place quietly perfects the basics — and that’s precisely why it earns a masterful five stars.
They know me by name and they are always with a smile and friendly.
The service they give me is exceptional..both morning and evening teams!
I honestly love going there and I enjoy every visit!
Don Pan you can keep that extra money i paid and I’m sure they can care less about losing one consistent customer. Lesson learned, i blame myself as well.
Special thanks to Janet, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. She made me feel like a valued customer with her friendly attitude and great energy.
Highly recommend this place for both the food and the warm service. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Thank you!
I ordered 3 Arepa Pelua and 2 sodas it came out to $37.00. I don’t mind paying for food what got so upset is that I got charged another $1.75 for two small size sauces i go to different fast food restaurant and I do understand that you pay extra when your order is for delivery and when you eat at the place you get sauce.
I just think that it’s a rip off charging for sauce to product that the sauce gives the flavor.
Plus the manager with grey hair Green eyes has an attitude I will never come back to this place.
And will not recommend anyone here.
