Don Goyo
First Impressions
We stopped by and ordered the common Mexican cravings tacos de lengua, pancita (menudo)soup and mole poblano along with arroz con leche. Everything was to go the owners were there at one of the corner tables, we recognize them from the taco cart at the corner of congress street. Nice place they opened.
Rosario y Ernesto were pleasant in serving us.

I’m really glad I stopped at DON GOYO. This is authentic Mexican food, not Americanized Mexican food where everything tastes the same. You can tell right away the food is made the way it’s supposed to be made.
We ordered quesadillas al pastor, quesadillas de chorizo, and bistec a la mexicana, and everything was on point. The bistec a la mexicana tasted homemade — tender steak with onions, tomatoes, and peppers in a real sauce, not dry and not overly greasy. The quesadillas were packed with meat and actually seasoned well, not bland or skimpy.
They brought out fresh tortilla chips with pico de gallo and guacamole, and even those tasted fresh, not like something that came out of a container. The rice and black beans were good too, which matters because a lot of places mess that up.
Portions are solid, the food comes out hot, and everything just tastes real. This is the kind of place you go when you want real Mexican food, not fast-food Mexican or watered-down flavors.
If you’re in the area, DON GOYO is definitely worth stopping at. I’ll be coming back.

From those who bring us Taquitos Mexicanos now offers us full meals as Don Goyo! And yes – you can still get tacos!
We had Chile Relleno and Cheese Enchiladas. Both served with rice and beans, as well as, an offering of fresh salsas.
As a vegetarian – I love having more options on this menu.
BYOB & friendly service make this a top pick in the heights!

came here around 1pm on a Sunday, slightly busy. service was good, champurrado was AMAZING. i ordered the flautas, could use some improvement due to the fact that the chicken was dry and the flautas overall were oily. i received chips and salsa as an appetizer and may i say the salsas are so bomb. Definitely coming back to try the other food items 🙂

Tacos were comparable to the quality from the truck. Will be coming back to try out some other Mexican classics! Looking forward to enjoying good Mexican food during the winter

I always seen they had a taco truck on the corner of my house but I personally am a very picky eater and never tried it. I was so proud after 10+ years being on New York Avenue and Congress St. They opened their own place on Palisade Avenue so I had to step out of my comfort zone and try it out! Im sooooo glad I did! I ordered an elote (mexican corn) it was DELISHHHHH.. A steak burrito which had a salad on the side of it. The burrito was juicy and packed with meat. Also ordered Birria Tacos which ive heard about in general but never tried them and this is my first time trying a REAL AUTHENTIC MEXICAN place and I am not disappointed with the food. Im in the middle of eating and had to make a review! Nothing bad to say!! The ladies in the front were very friendly and the atmosphere had me wowed! 10/10 will come here again but to sit down instead of take out! Many thanks for a good first experience of another cultures food!

Have been eating food from this family since they opened their food truck. Ordered take out from their brick & mortar and their food continues to be excellent. Had tacos al pastor, carnitas and pollo and all were awesome. You’ll have a hard time finding better Mexican food at any price but their prices are totally reasonable. You really need to give this place a try. Buen provecho.

This place is legit. Handmade tortillas, good quality food. I used to frequent taqueria downtown but saw this place come up on Instagram. I work close by and this has become my new go to place. Grateful they stay open relatively late too!
