We had an issue with the couple next to us and the servers were excellent in managing the situation, letting us move tables.
Much approved.
However the food was lovely, portions great and the overall atmosphere was lovely.
1. Authentically Italian? I don’t think so. Didn’t expect a pizza shaped garlic bread from an authentic Italian restaurant. More did I expect a less than mediocre pizza!! 🙁
2. I loved everything else personally (my family and other thoughts but this is my own review section soooo) Unfortunately the lasagna I ordered had a rancid taste, I stayed quiet and watched my brother try it and he had the same reaction. So did everyone else on my table. The staff was very nice, explained that the dish was made fresh and apologized for it, gave me another dish instead (the meat ball pasta and it was delicious)
3. The tiramisu was AMAZING.
4. The service was great when it was there, but kinda slow!
5. I’m not a fan of table decor, too much going on and not enough space for the food.
Would come back once this restaurant finishes teething since it’s newer, but they need to work on their menu… maybe hire an Italian chef if they haven’t already 😀
We requested to make the dinner have a birthday feel, while booking the reservation and they reverted with suggestions. Food was goooood!!! I was so impressed and my cousin had a blast.
I gave the service a 4 because, it took a while for us to get served but that didn’t trump the awesome experience we had. Highly recommend you pay a visit and thank me later.
A special shout-out to one of the team who mentioned he’d never cut open a monkfish tinfoil parcel before — he did it perfectly, with total confidence, and it added a really nice personal touch to the service.
Brilliant atmosphere, amazing food, and exceptional staff. Highly recommend — can’t wait to come back.
I wasn’t expecting such an elaborate decor and the DJ was amazing staff were impeccably hospitable and the manager was everywhere and looked after us so well especially with our specific food requests.
They even came round with a Polaroid for a lovely memento to take home with us.
We had the BEST dinner out in Manchester and what a location.
To the Don Giovanni family we thank and salute you.
Keep doing what you’re doing and we will be back for the “Bottomless Lasagna” next – be warned !!
❤️
We were moved to this restaurant last minute when the other venue couldn’t accommodate our party, despite it having been booked for months. It was a £45pp bottomless brunch and the WORST experience ever. Food was literally bought from the supermarket. Cheap sliced bread, plastic cheese, “poached” eggs that were literally hard boiled, pale fatty bacon… I could go on.
We waited over 90 mins for all our food to arrive, and it all came at different times so we couldn’t eat together. Drinks were slow and not topped up continuously as we’d paid for. One of the party even found a piece of PLASTIC in her food, which the manager tried to tell us it was “sea salt”.
We offered to pay half price or nothing, which was generous given the state of it. The manager called the police to scare us, even though we’d committed no crime. The officers who turned up told us we were free to leave – only then did management want to accept 50%.
An absolute shambles. Avoid at all costs.
The only drawback was the service — while the team was friendly, they seemed stretched, and it often took a while to get drinks or catch anyone’s attention. Understandable given how busy it was, but it did affect the flow of the evening a little.
Still, it was a great night out, and I’m glad I booked it. I’d definitely return.
