Whenever I visit my brother in Tehachapi, we go to Domingo’s and it is always good. He has been eating there since he moved to Tehachapi in 1986 and it is a family favorite. The staff is excellent and very friendly. The food is very tasty and their drinks do not disappoint. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable and the service is top notch. We especially like the enchilada plate and the taco salad.

The food was reasonably priced compared to anywhere else in the state. Lol. A little bland for my taste but still good. Other people liked it with our party. Friendly staff.

Husband had the chicken/ steak mix fajitas. I had cheese enchiladas. The fajitas had good flavor, the chicken and steak were cooked well and tender. The enchiladas came out in the luke warm to cool side. However, it was put back in the oven and came back hot. Service was food. Our drinks stayed filled and waiter continually checked on us. Their cherry and apple chimichungas were a yummy treat. The bar area was loud but expected, so we sat in the dining area which was quiet.

Our AirBnb host had Domingos listed as the recommended restaurant for Mexican food so we gave it a go.

We were seated immediately and shortly after sitting down we were served chips and salsa. The salsa was very bland, didn’t even have enough heat for my wife who will only eat mild salsa. I asked our waiter if they had a spicier salsa and promptly brought us another bowl which packed a fair amount of heat. As you can see from my photo the basket of chips was rather small. If you look on their menu you will see that it says “CHIPS, additional baskets $1.25” I don’t have a problem paying for extra chips but NOT ONCE did our waiter ask if we would like more chips. As a result we ended up with a lot of leftover salsa. (we may have been charged for the extra salsa).

I ordered a margarita on the rocks with salted rim and was satisfied as to both size and flavor.

As per usual: Not to brag, but I make pretty good Mexican cuisine myself, so I usually pass on tacos, enchiladas, burritos, & tamales, etc and go straight to the meal I find most difficult to prepare: Chile Rellenos.

I wasn’t all that impressed with the presentation of the plate, but the chile rellenos were pretty good. My wife had a taco which she said was good.

Overall, with the exception of not asking if we would like more chips (which I consider a MAJOR failure) the service and food was acceptable. The highlight of the meal was desert: fried ice cream. That we REALLY enjoyed.

I give it 3 stars. If we were to visit Tehachapi again I would definitely check out other Mexican restaurants before returning here. The biggest draw being their fried ice cream. Seriously, I would stop in just for that alone.

The bill for our meals: One margarita, chips & salsa, 2 chile rellenos dish and a single taco dish, and one fried ice cream (we split it) was ~ $47.00
including tip.

Food was the blandest I’ve ever had
I got the campechana for 30 some dollars and it tasted like they seasoned that stuff with water, not even saltwater.
I gotta say the staff was great and service was awesome. But yeah the food not it for us.
I guess if you live in tehachapi its ok but I wouldn’t drive there from anywhere else I’d rather eat at Gloria’s in cal city that should tell you something.

I’m a truck driver. And in 2020 the food was amazing. Now in 2026 food is really poorly with no flavor. And was cold.

It’s really sad when I was here in 2020 I was amazed about the flavor and the food now it is sad…

Had a really good lunch and dinner at this restaurant. The margaritas are excellent, strawberry margarita is a favorite. Corn chips and salsa for snacking. Mostly it’s the standard and well-known Mexican dishes, but there are also things like omelettes, which mine was wonderfully spiced and well cooked. Definitely will come here again and recommend to anyone else who enjoys good Mexican food. Also, the prices were reasonable, not too steep.

I hadn’t been here in years, and after returning, I remembered why. Their food is not good. I got the Camarones a la Diabla, and the shrimp was the tiny, frozen type rather than the large ones like everywhere else I’ve ever had it. They were completely tasteless. The sauce was just okay. More sweet than spicy though, and the sauce was dumped on top of most of the rice and beans, which were actually pretty good on their own.
My son in law had a chile verde burrito and said the sauce was good, but the meat was chewy. My daughter said the flautas were pretty good.
The service was good.
