Best sandwiches in the A for real. The team here is great and have been running shop for ages now. Been hitting this place up since high school, for 20+ years. Food is made to order and always great, fresh produce, great bread selection and great prices. Turkey cranberry and the hot roast beef is the go-to for me.

I love sandwiches! Great meat, fresh breads , variety of drinks ….. and of course something for the sweet tooth Finding a replacement for Genova’s of Oakland has been a decade plus challenge for me … until I discovered Domenico’s in Alameda!
I pay attention to the staff’s unspoken language and if the owner is present I watch them too! Well I always say staff reflects leadership… pleased to learn both are great people.
‼️Mrs Domenico and son really set the standard. I’m terrible with names( he told me his and his mother’s name) so I don’t want to mention but if you go there you’ll know immediately who I’m speaking about . ‼️
I’m all about legacy and family tradition, this is a third generation establishment which holds the same love & respect to the craft and people. It’s in the service.

Delicious sandwiches with quality ingredients, prepared efficiently by friendly staff.
Really enjoyed the balance of flavor and texture in my toasted pastrami sandwich (with marbled rye, Swiss cheese, all toppings). The pastrami was tender and well seasoned, and not too salty.
We also tried the Italian beef on a French roll. Very tasty, and the roll was perfect for soaking up the au jus.

Classic Italian deli. It even smells like you’re back on the east coast when you walk in. We used to go here all the time when we lived on the west end and the owner remembered us after 3 years! Great customer service, always, big menu, and quality ingredients. You can choose off the menu or make your own. They have vegetarian options too! ❤️

Came to this sandwich shop, not because of the reviews, but by word of mouth. Gotten the Italian combo on sliced wheat bread. Didn’t have to wait long and it was quiet. The sandwich was really good. Anyways, I told the lady, I’m gonna assume she is the owner/manager and most likely the mom of the shop, it was my first time there and I came because of the words of others (both good and bad). She asked what bad things were said because she wanted to keep a good reputation. I told her what had been said and I’ll definitely be back to support this lovely mom and pops shop for more sandwiches

The reason I am making this review so bad is because of the poor hygiene noted at this deli. I was there for a while and observed, most of the employees were observed using gloves for multi purpose use, like touching surfaces then touching food. Which is totally gross and not within health codes. One in particular is the lady at the front, older lady who takes orders, she had the same set of gloves which she wrote orders with, then touched her personal purse like digging in there and organizing, then with the same gloves answered phones and then went to make some sort of side for an order. They are in the food industry so therefore ensuring food isn’t contaminated and handled with clean hands is their responsibility. I should have said something there but honestly when the majority of the staff is doing the same practice it seems like they need retraining. I won’t go back here again for the simple fact that it’s not my responsibility to tell the people that work there to use CLEAN HANDS.
Everyone is nice, and hopefully they take this review seriously because peoples health shouldn’t be put at risk.

This deli has been in my radar for some time, so when I had a craving for a sandwich I knew I had to take a drive over to Alameda.
This is a very cool deli with great customer service.
I ordered the Cajun turkey on a French roll and it was simple yet extremely delicious.
I really wanted to order a slice of their Tiramisu but the line has got too long, so now I have another reason to return very soon!

We stopped in on our way from the OAK airport to Anderson Valley. We already had a long travel day and I needed a classic deli sandwich on Dutch crunch. Service was fast and friendly! The Italian combo and turkey subs were delicious. The Dutch crunch bread was not the best I’ve had, but everything was fresh and the dine in area was clean.
