Small mom and pop pizza shop in downtown Waterbury. I have been coming here since I was a kid. They have Hands down the best pizza in Waterbury, CT. I always get a large cheese pizza and it’s always amazing. The Ingredients Tatse so fresh and prices are fair. Staff is always friendly here and this is a family owned and operated restaurant.

Best pizza in the city. Pizza that reminds me of when I was living in NYC. I got a classic cheese pie with garlic knots. The pizza was done perfectly with a nice crust. The cheese and cause had a nice flavor. Also prices are very affordable 16 bucks for a large pie . Definitely will visit back and will try the pepperoni next.

A mouthwatering onion, mushroom, tomatoes, broccoli, and green and red pepper, and olives. The best pizza in the city of Waterbury!!! Connecticut. Kudos to the great pizza tradition.

WOW!! I grew up eating Dominick and Pia’s Downtown Waterbury Pizza from the time I was a baby! After moving to Houston, Texas, five years ago, I’ve told everyone that the only thing I truly miss about Connecticut is the pizza. Texas is great for BBQ and Mexican food, but the pizza just isn’t the same!
Well, my partner flew into CT on Friday for a family event and flew back to Houston last night — and he surprised me with the BEST gift ever! On his way to the airport, he stopped at Dominick and Pia’s to grab me a large pizza! Pia and the family were so incredibly kind — they even helped him package the pizza in ziplock bags so it would survive the trip home! ✈️
I ever got to share some with my Mom, who was super excited to have the pizza as well.
I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to Pia, Dominick, Dave and the rest for being so thoughtful and helping make my pizza dreams come true. It might sound like it’s just pizza to some, but to me, it’s reliving my childhood and so many special memories. ♥️
If you haven’t tried Dominick and Pia’s yet — trust me, it’s worth traveling 1,800 miles for!

I’m from New Haven so I have different standards for pizza. I have to say, I was a bit thrown off the first time I had pizza here because it’s a bit different from New Haven pizza. I tend to only get cheese pizza, and it’s what I base good pizza off of as well. They have good sauce, proper amount of cheese, and it makes a good slice of pizza. The differences from New Haven pizza is in the crust really. It doesn’t have the charred parts which I’ve come to love on pizza, but they somehow make a nice crispy crust that looks similar to a New Haven pie on top but isn’t charred at all on the bottom. Instead it’s crispy but cooked pretty perfectly right below the point it would have some charring. I have to say it’s pretty enjoyable and has a nice taste to it. Although I won’t skip getting pizza when I’m in New Haven, now that I’m staying in Waterbury I can enjoy getting a pizza here at least. It’s an enjoyable slice of pizza.
