We dined at Dolce for the first time last night and had a great meal. Since it was Valentine’s Day, reservations were limited so we went at 4:30p. The restaurant is divided into three sections, a small dining room up front with maybe 15 tables, a bar area with mostly high top tables and an enclosed patio with heat lamps. We sat in the dining room along the window side. I have to say I exchanged seats with my husband because I felt a draft on my shoulders and back. Next time I will ask for a table against the wine wall. The staff from the hostess to our server to the other staff who delivered food and cleaned up dirty plates were on top of everything. The owner Steve even stopped by our table a couple times. There’s a piano player in the dining area near the entrance which is the perfect to have music playing while you dine.
My husband and I started with cocktails, an old-fashioned for him and a leatherneck for me, which is a bees knee. Our server Rich told us the story of my drink which is in honor of a Westmont and Oswego restaurateur who was struck and killed by a teenage driver just over a year ago. As a matter of fact, all their cocktails pay tribute to local businesses and their owners. I love that! As far as my leatherneck cocktail, it was the perfect combination of gin, lemon & honey. The only thing missing was a sugared rim. One of the best bees knees I’ve had.
For dinner, hubs and I shared the winter beet salad – cubed red and golden beats on top of creamy goat cheese with peppery arugula. So yum! Bread service was three smaller pieces of grilled baguette. It would’ve be nice to have had four pieces to be able to split evenly.
Hubs had the Rigatoni Alla Norcina for dinner. It was rigatoni with spicy pork, wild mushrooms, pecorino, breadcrumbs and a little heat. I snagged a couple tastes and it was damn delicious. For dinner, I had the Halibut with White Bean Ragù. It was a seared halibut filet with a Tuscan white bean ragù, roasted tomatoes and spinach. So tasty! We ended the meal sharing a tiramisu dessert. It was so creamy and light that it could’ve floated off the plate.
I can’t believe I haven’t died at Dolce before – it definitely is a restaurant we will come back to. Everything from the cocktails to the food to the service was great. Chef’s Kiss!

We just hosted a baby shower there on Sunday. It was wonderful! Because the restaurant doesn’t open to the public until 4:00 p.m., we had the whole restaurant, bar, and back patio for ourselves. The food, service and atmosphere are all very good and the owner is great and flexible to work with! We will be returning for dinners in the future.

This is a great spot in town. They have a nice layout with a small dining area up front, a bar and dining are in the middle, and a patio in back. Drinks were great – extensive wine list, solid beer selection, and a full bar. Food was wonderful! Great appetizers and entrees. This is perfect for a date night or a nice gathering of friends.

We enjoyed a great dinner last Friday night while celebrating our 55th anniversary. Our server was very attentive! Started out with complimentary champagne! The old fashioneds were wonderful and the beet and goat cheese salad was delicious! And the chef bobs shrimp was amazing! The evening was made even more memorable because of the kindness of a couple that sat at the corner table! We will definitely be back!

Nice and intimate spot. We had reservations (great idea!), by 7:00 pm this place was packed. Food was delicious, portions were just the right size, you see the quaint kitchen right by the bar during the entire meal. Wine selection was great too.You can see that this restaurant is loved by the locals, the owner walks around to talk to all his guests, came to our table too. He told us that his restaurant does wine tastings and other fun things. We will definitely be be back to this small little gem where you feel like you are dining in a small family-owned restaurant in Italy.

Made our reservation thru google with OpenTable app, mind you that it didn’t ask me for a table of how many; only had an option for dining outdoor or indoor or at the bar. So I had clicked dine indoor same day at 8pm for a family of 5. Upon to our arrival the owner at front had greeted us and asked for our name, I had given our name & told him it is for a table of 5 he said “oh well on here it says 2, but let me get this table ready for you and your family not a problem at all” I had like the fact that he was able to work around with it even though I had mention the app didn’t ask me how many people were part of the party. Our server name was Shanna, she was quick, efficient and timely manner for a family of 5 although they were understaff by one waiter/waitress but they made it work to serve everyone in there. I had a plate of Catalpa Grove Lamb Chops which was an amazing dish with great flavor, my wife had Fra’ Diavolo it was a delicious dish although it had quiet a kick on the spicy side, my 3 kids had shared 2 dishes one was Chorizo flatbread and the other was Spaghetti with Shrimp it was big enough for all 3 kids to split. At the end of our dinner the owner of the place had offered gelato that was amazing and my kids love it.
