Social Profile:

Dolce – Eastern European Restaurant & Pizza was established in April 2007 by Iuliana Manea, a beyond talented Romanian lady from Vaslui, Romania. She is known by her customers and the city itself as “Julia”. Julia had the passion to take the cuisine she was taught by her own parents initially, refine it with over 40 years of experience in the industry working in Romania, at various high-class restaurants, and the state of Maryland, in the United States. After accumulating enough knowledge in the industry and adding her own twist to her cuisine, Dolce was born. The restaurant specializes in traditional Romanian cuisine (e.g. stuffed cabbage, tochitura moldoveneasca, traditional soups etc.) as well as Italian and American cuisine.

Cozy, family-owned pizza parlor serving Italian standards along with some Eastern European dishes.

My first visit here. Service was wonderfully attentive and friendly. Julia the owner also checked in. What a nice lady! You felt like a member of the family!

The store front is tiny and easily missed. The seating area was small but enough seating to make dining in a nice experience.

The food was very good. We tried the marguerita pizza with fresh tomatoes, cheese and basil on the homemade pizza crust and sauce. It was very tasty. The crust was light with a satisfying crisp bite. I just wish they used fresh basil and not just dried.

They gave us a small roll and butter while we waited and a nice dish of homemade mini donuts as an after dinner treat. Lightly fried and dusted in powdered sugar… all these little extras really elevated our lunch experience! I can see why they have received high praise in Hagerstown “best of” polls. I do recommend this small neighborhood restaurant.

An Absolute Gem in Hagerstown!
I recently visited Dolce and was blown away by the entire experience. If you’re looking for incredible Eastern European inspired cuisine with a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place. The Pasta Carbonara Simply excellent. It was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned easily some of the best I’ve had in the area.
The House Salad This was a total banger! The addition of fresh mozzarella made it incredibly refreshing and elevated the whole dish. The service was top notch from start to finish. My server was attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. I finished the meal with their donuts, and they were the perfect sweet ending. Great food, amazing service, and a must visit spot in Hagerstown. I’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful food. Very nice server. They treat you like a close family friend. The large portions make great leftovers. I love that the food is always fresh and very hot!

The food was fresh and delicious. I found this place on Tripadvisor as highly recommended in the area, and I can see why. Whenever I am in the area I will be sure to stop here. Small inside only a few tables, but still comfortable. A lot of takeout orders while we were there.

We ordered 3 subs, 2 onion rings, and 1 fried mushrooms. Subs had very little meat, hard cheese, hardly any lettuce and 1 slice of tomato on the entire sub. I ordered mushrooms on my sub but they were forgotten. One sub had 5 pieces of gristle in the meat ( not appetizing at all). Onion rings were half cooked and breading was falling off. Mushrooms were wet with grease like they hadn’t been drained properly when taken out of the fryer. All of our food had great flavor, just the food preparation was lacking. We have eaten in the restaurant numerous times and have never gotten such unappealing food. Service in the restaurant is top notch. Maybe takeout is not a good fit or maybe just a busy night but for the first time I was very disappointed in this restaurant. We will go again to eat in house but I will never purchase takeout again.

I was recommended Dolce’s by numerous people so I had to try and see what the hype was all about. This restaurant is just your small family owned whole in the wall. The calamari wasn’t bad at all, but was cut up into very small pieces. I wish they were bigger chunks. As for the pizza it was mediocre. My family member enjoyed the Italian cold cut until…. WE SAW THAT THE WAITER WAS BEING UNSANITARY! It’s a very small restaurant and you can hear pretty much anything. A family across from us ordered a salad with no tomatoes. Our waiter went to the back with no gloves on plucked the tomatoes off the salad then scratched his neck and came over to our table. That made us stop eating instantly. At the end of your meal they give you these little pieces of fried donuts in batter sugar, but seeing what our waiter did we were not hungry.

Been wanting to come here for a while and made the effort tonight. Well worth it. Small, quaint little place but busy on a Monday night. The menu was huge and I settled for Moussaka which was absolutely delicious. Came with with a small fresh garden salad and very good garlic bread. Should not have eaten it all. Wife had the chicken Alfredo. Dessert was offered as these fresh, homemade powdered sugar donut bites. We will return….

Great food, friendly service and fast fresh food. Calzones come in 3 sizes small, medium and large. I got a medium and it could easily feed 3. Dough was crispy and very good, perfect amount of ricotta and mozzarella. It was our 1st visit and will be coming back

My first time in got take out however dining area is beautifully set up. They smell inside when I stepped in. I knew it was going to be a treat. I chose the lasagna special. The garlic bread is outstanding and I sure hope the delicious sauce is something that is carried through all the dishes outstanding I got halfway through the meal and realized there was no ricotta cheese in the lasagna. Something I’m used to however it really wasn’t missing Because of the freshness and that sauce so meaty it didn’t matter. I cannot wait to return because I’ve been looking for cabbage rolls and that is on my next to try. I would like to also thank the folks there that were unbelievably kind and helpful. I have trouble walking and they helped me get to my car and carried my food for me. I’m real big on customer service and this is why I like to frequent small businesses. Great place all around!

Stopped by after a ski trip. It is a small shop that was renovated from a single family house. The waiter was very nice and accommodating. The food is delicious. Although the name is eastern European food, a large portion of their menu is still Italian. But they did it well anyway. We tried pigs in a blanket, chicken masala, speciality pizza and vegetarian stromboli. The first two dishes are my favorite, especially the pigs in a blanket. It tastes very homey like granny used to make them. Chicken masala is creamy but not overwhelmingly fatty. The crust on pizza and stromboli are also very good. I like their red sauce the best. None of the Italian dishes are too salty at all which is the best part. Their home made donuts are good, like funnel cakes. I don’t think it is spectacular though. Overall, this is a super pleasant random pick and will do it again next time I go to white tail.
