Dolce – Eastern European Restaurant & Pizza was established in April 2007 by Iuliana Manea, a beyond talented Romanian lady from Vaslui, Romania. She is known by her customers and the city itself as “Julia”. Julia had the passion to take the cuisine she was taught by her own parents initially, refine it with over 40 years of experience in the industry working in Romania, at various high-class restaurants, and the state of Maryland, in the United States. After accumulating enough knowledge in the industry and adding her own twist to her cuisine, Dolce was born. The restaurant specializes in traditional Romanian cuisine (e.g. stuffed cabbage, tochitura moldoveneasca, traditional soups etc.) as well as Italian and American cuisine.
Cozy, family-owned pizza parlor serving Italian standards along with some Eastern European dishes.

Been wanting to come here for a while and made the effort tonight. Well worth it. Small, quaint little place but busy on a Monday night. The menu was huge and I settled for Moussaka which was absolutely delicious. Came with with a small fresh garden salad and very good garlic bread. Should not have eaten it all. Wife had the chicken Alfredo. Dessert was offered as these fresh, homemade powdered sugar donut bites. We will return….

Generally I do not leave reviews for restaurants on a first visit but this gem is an exception to the rule. I absolutely loved my meal here! I was one of a group of nine and we were fortunate to have a reservation. This place is tiny in space but huge on flavor. It’s obvious that the owner/operators and staff have pride in the product they deliver. The aromas that greet you upon entry are so divine. Not one person in our group had anything to say about their meals but praise. I had the moussaka and it was so very flavorful. The desserts were just as delicious. If I didn’t live almost 5 hours away, I’d eat here all the time. The young ladies who waited on our group were outstanding. I definitely recommend that any curious diner give this place a shot. One small downfall is the parking…it’s limited but parking on the street is an option if you are willing to walk a bit.

Small place, with a comprehensive menu- if you’re Romanian, you will find the stuffed leaves and the “gogosi “ Romanian doughnuts we all love and remember from home. The Americans in my family, picky eaters, had pizza and an eggplant parmigiana that they were happy with. There is an Italian list of dishes on the menu.

Dolce – WOW, WOW, WOW! Holy moly, what a great place. I rarely give five stars, this place deserves ten stars. The place is a hole-in-the-wall, all most missable nondescript restaurant with ten tables. The food is out of this world – over the top. We had the stuffed veal that was wonderful and a nice, large portion. The pasta with meat sauce was superb. The salad was fresh and the house made dressing was good. To top it off, they give you (yes, FREE) house made donuts – similar to a funnel cake but much better. Go to Dolce – YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT!

Don’t let the outside fool you. Customer service was outstanding from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out the door. The pizza is hands down the best in Hagerstown. Pasta was also really good. The chicken tenders and fries were a little basic though.

I heard this place was really good, that my friends was an understatement!! I do love food, we have a relationship. From the first roll, the salad, the pizza, the pasta and my lord the “donuts”! I feel like I died and went to heaven! Our waitress, Sierra was so sweet and always checking in with her great smile! I can’t wait to go back!! I would actually like to find time to work there! WILL WORK FOR FOOD!! Just wish it was bigger!!

Great atmosphere, great service, and very friendly, and the food was awesome. I had the Stromboli, and it was packed full of delicious meats and fresh melted mozzarella. The dough was so soft and chewy. My wife had the lasagna, which was very tasty and fresh. They even gave us some samples of their fresh donuts !We will be making this a regular stop for us!
