Quality is good or actually better than places I’ve been in Chicago, NY, Atlanta.
True hole in the wall. Located inside the culinary campus west of TC makes it a different place to visit. Very knowledgeable staff! A++
All the staff friendly, polite and hardworking! Highly recommend!
My favorite roll is the Seven Spice Tuna. The spice rub is so smoky with just the perfect amount of spice, and then shaved citrus on top is better than icing on cake.
I’m also a big fan of the Dragon, Golden Tuna, King Kombu, and Gojira special rolls. Honestly, I haven’t had anything there that I wasn’t totally enthusiastic about–even the miso soup is the best I’ve ever had. And quite frankly, I wouldn’t pay these prices anywhere else but at The Dojo it is worth every single penny.
The people are just as amazing as the food. The owner Brent is super friendly, happy to chat, and calls you by name. His dad is equally awesome–the family aspect makes me feel really good about spending my money here.
Honestly the dining room isn’t my favorite (the chairs aren’t super comfy) so I suppose I’ll have to give it 5 stars instead of 6. BUT they’re super conscientious about food allergies and are willing to change their cutting boards and everything if you need to avoid cross-contamination; all you have to do is ask.
Disclaimer: These are photos from The Dojo’s Facebook page, which I happily subscribe to for their drool-worthy photography. I was going to post my own pics, but then I realized that Brent never posted these beauties to Google and figured I ought to share the love.
The space is decorated very Japanese and is crisp and clean. The owner, Brent and his team are as kind and humble as they are talented.
The food was excellent! We enjoyed the miso soup, spicy edamame, Garden roll, spicy tuna roll, vegetable roll and King Kombu. Soooo delicious!
The presentation was on point with adorable table settings, quality chopsticks and self serve hot green tea.
This is a small space and carryout is popular. I recommend you eat it there so your taste buds can enjoy every savory bite while it’s super fresh.
Cute space. Yummy food. Great logo. Talented chef. Do not pass go, RUN to The Dojo today.
