Visited on a Friday afternoon with hubby. The place is comfortable, clean, and has a nice vibe for hanging out with a beer. They have a great selection of cans and bottles plus I think about 12 taps. Austin was at the bar and was great at offering suggestions and a sample. Dog friendly – two patrons brought their pups. The price was very fair. We’ll go back again.

I only give 4 stars because of the bartender. Beer selection was great, I even got several Christmas gifts for friends at home from the coolers along the wall. The service was fast, although not especially friendly. I was there with a friend and since he bought dinner I was buying our drinks. She refused to speak to me directly, kept talking to him regarding cash out even though I used my card for the tab and even after asking the name still handed the bill to him to sign. I’m not sure if she was having an off night or just into my drinking companion but it was very off putting and sadly I felt as though my business didn’t matter at all to her. Which is unfortunate since it seems like a cool place for my trips down. I think I’ll stick to The Trophy Room next door instead.

This bar use to be great. But if you’re BLACK OR BROWN I wouldn’t recommend going here. The female bartender is ANTI BLACK. She’s always rude and has an attitude. They need to invest in a friendlier and not racist staff. Very disappointed we use to love this place.

To piggy back off from the possibly racist comment. I’ve heard multiple times of a few instances of things happening here, I would always let it go. But tonight I witnessed it for myself. I walked in, selected a beer had it opened and paid for when the bartender decided she didn’t want to serve me and told me that I needed to leave the premises. When I asked for the manager she told me she was the manager. She was a short white girl with I believe brown hair with a nasty attitude. I do isn’t a recorded video of her actions and will be contacting corporate if I can reach them because this has to stop. I am a constant customer at this facility and this is unacceptable.

Dogwood has been a go-to of mine during my last few visits to Winston-Salem. Small, cozy yet comfortable bar with a good tap list bolstered by it’s absolute plethora of fantastic canned beers which you can either buy to drink there or take home.
