This place is a hidden gem! Came in slightly out of season and got the chance to have an absolutely awsome hostess/waitress named Lynn. She was very attentive and helpful with helping us find places in the area to check out. The food at this place was great, the prices are spot on for this area and its very clean! It’s a fun atmosphere and fun vibe. Highly recommend checking it out.

Had a quick pickup order. Was able to get authentic Maine lobster which I was looking for and really excited about it tastes amazing. The fries are perfectly done. I picked up my order a little bit past the anticipated preparation time, but it was still very nice and warm. Perfectly seasoned, really good food!!

Our waitress, Lynn, was extremely personable, knowledgeable, & friendly! It’s obvious she loves working here! My daughter wanted honey barbecue, but they only have barbecue, so she brought my daughter honey packets to add to her barbecue sauce-delicious!
My other daughter has food sensitivities & allergies & Lynn repeatedly ran back to the kitchen with a smile to confirm the foods she wanted to order were safe for her! Additionally, she took extra care of my daughter since her arm was in a sling.
All of our lunches were delicious!! You MUST give them a try-you won’t regret it!
Prices were great during tourist season in Bar Harbor, Maine!

This was a nice stop with plenty of classic and unique bar food options. What drew me in to come here was the teriyaki chicken sandwich which was way better than what you find at Red Robin’s. The cocktails here are also cheap ($10-12 each) which I would totally go back to.

I was so delighted to find a restaurant that was open off-season (mid-November), wheelchair accessible, and had a few vegetarian options! Many other places in Bar Harbor were either closed, or were listed as accessible but had doorways that were too narrow for any size of wheelchair. The staff was friendly, helpful, and polite. My husband had a lobster roll (brioche bread) with lovely chunky fries which I think were termed “tater tots” but I’m not sure (we asked for no seasoning due to allergy); I had a grilled cheese sandwich with the same chunky fries and we both really enjoyed our meal. The place was clean, including the restroom, the latter had an accessible stall, which was big enough to accommodate my power-wheelchair. The prices were reasonable too!

If visiting town on a cruise do yourself a favor and leave the crowd at the dock and be ready for the doors to open at 11am at the Dog and Pony. The staff was outstanding, food was delicious, and as visitors from Ohio we were treated like regulars. While I have been to lots of bars with good food and great people something you don’t always get is cleanliness. From the bar to our table and the restrooms this place was spotless. I really can’t say enough good things about my visit.

Dog & Pony Tavern was one of the highlights of our mid-November trip to Bar Harbor this year. With many restaurants closed and dining options limited we found most restaurants to be lacking in either service, food options/quality or affordability – D & G was a homerun in every aspect. Our jalapeno margaritas were delish. We had the shrimp platter and fried haddock sandwich. The portions were generous and the food was very good. The fried haddock sandwich had two large pieces of fried haddock – way too much for a sandwich – but we were more than happy to eat the extra piece just as it was – crispy, flaky and oh so good! And then there was Lynn . . . she was amazing. So nice, so personable – the perfect waitress. If we lived in Bar Harbor, this would be a regular hangout.

Service was great! Food was amazing. Got fish and chips and lobster mac and cheese. So, so good. Pretzel was really good and so was the clam chowder. You won’t be disappointed!

The food and service were AMAZING! Our server was very kind and offered to give me a new drink because she thought she gave me the wrong thing (she didn’t it was ok!) and the food was very well price for the taste and quality! Not to mention it was fast! I went with my family of 5 and we got our food in probably no more than 15 minutes and nothing felt rushed! I would go again!!

Was recommended this place by the staff at Kimball Terrace and it didn’t disappoint. My wife absolutely loved the lobster roll and although my daughter didn’t like the mac and cheese my wife thought it was great and boxed it up for later.
I had the double burger and although it was very juicy and soaked the bottom bun because the 2 patties, it was very enjoyable.
The music was great as well and the wait staff was extremely courteous and attentive. Def would recommend this place if you’re in the area.
