Had a very delicious and lovely lunch here today thanks to Stephanie!
Ordered a glass of Mark West pinot noir to start. I’ve never ordered a half slab of ribs as an appetizer but I’m glad I did! The rib meat was perfect – tender, flavorful and fell right off of the bone. Don’t sleep on the ribs here, order them and thank me later. I’ll be ordering a full slab the next time I come in.
For my entree, I had the London Broil and subbed the potato option for steamed broccoli. Although my steak was cooked slightly past medium, it was still very juicy, tender and full of flavor. To my delight, they didn’t skimp on the mushrooms. Steak and sautéed mushrooms is such a classic combo, you can’t go wrong.
I ordered a slice of carrot cake to go which was also very good.

Don’t order anything with stuffing. They put tons of green peppers in it. My whole meal was inedible. Even the salad was yukky. It was from a bag and smelt horrible.
Don’t waste your money at the establishment. In my 65 years on this earth I’ve never had green peppers in my stuffing.

Great food, but Not Sure For a Quick Lunch
We were driving down 173 the other day, saw their sign and tried them out for lunch. You enter into a fairly large dining room with many tables. To the left is a large bar. There was one other couple and two groups of 6-8 seniors having lunch. We later saw that the seniors were bridge players and started playing cards after lunch. Only one server/hostess was working and she worked hard. She took our drink order, ice water for me and fresh brewed Iced Tea ($3.00) for my wife. We then took to studying the expansive menu. It is just like the menu at Dockers down in Fox Lake. You name it, they have it. We see our server refilling drinks for the other diners, bringing out some appetizers, etc. and finally taking our food order. We were in no rush and just sat and talked. Then we saw our server bringing meals out to people that were there way before we got there. Not a good sign as there was another large group still to get their meals in front of us. Our drinks got refilled and we sat some more. Our food finally arrived after an easy half hour, maybe longer. She did explain that it was only her and the cook so that’s what took so long. The meals were worth the wait. My wife had the Dockers Style Marinated Chicken Plate ($15.99) with fresh fruit. A warm pita was topped with a juicy and tasty Greek seasoned chicken with a side Greek salad and several slices of fresh fruit. I had the Grecian Salad with Chicken ($15.99). Prior to bringing out our meals, our server asked if I like anchovies on my Greek salad – I sure do and she loaded me up. The salad was composed of plenty of the usual Greek salad ingredients and a very tasty dressing. This could easily be shared. Our meals were excellent, fresh and flavorful! Everything we saw go by looked delicious and we would go back again if we were in the area, just not if we’re pressed for time.

Food was average at best. No more salad bar. Went on a Saturday night. Our waitress was horrible. Had to ask her 3 times just for some water. My wife ordered a specialty burger and it was missing some of the ingredients that made it a specialty. I had the 18oz Prime Rib, I question if it was even 16 oz. Not a good value for the price. Once we were finished our waitress just abandoned us. The bus person and another waitress came over, took care of us and finally gave us our check. Really not worth going out of our way to go back.

Me and my daughter Anna were there unfortunately for a funeral for a lifelong childhood friend Janell Bean. It was sad but nice, REALLY nice to see her mom Jamie Bean and especially her little sister(Anna’s BFF in childhood)Taylor Bean! The service was spectacular and the food was great! It was great to see faces that have moved and ones we’ve really missed!!

Where do you go in Antioch on a Wednesday night when you crave a supper club feel and your heart wants to do the Charleston?

Dockers North, of course!

Of course, you can hop in the roadster and explore the culinary journey any time they’re open. Service levels can differ with each visit but my server last night was wonderful. I adore the baked sweet potatoes, a savory and satifying treat. Bring friends! And plan for food and fun!
