Casual eatery with fish/seafood/oyster options. Located within shops at montage and conveniently near the theater. We always have very friendly, helpful waitstaff when we go, which isn’t too frequently. Food is prepared well, love the choices, but I can’t justify the prices for such small portions. There is also a high markup on drinks, though they have a good selection. I think the price point is the biggest drawback.

We happened to find this spot on an afternoon trip to the movies. I didn’t find the prices to be outside the norm of a good seafood restaurant. We had appetizers and cocktails: orange Sesame tempura shrimp and little neck clams. Both were very good. The clams weren’t overcooked or rubbery. And I liked how lightly coated the shrimp were because it allows you to enjoy the taste of shrimp instead of chucks of batter. We ate at the bar…bar tender was pleasant and alert. I am looking forward to returning for dinner with the rest of our family.

We ate at Doc’s today 22 June 2014. It was the 1st time my wife and I ate at Doc’s. We had the Calamari appetizer and we both had the Fried Maryland Combo and it was awesome! We had a very good waitress, Olivia. Olivia was knowledgeable, nice, always there with refills for our drinks before we asked. After this experience we will go back to Doc’s and we recommend it to our friends.

Outstanding in every way. This is my favorite seafood restaurant and I live in New England! Sean was excellent: there when we needed him, and not when we didn’t. This was my seventh time at docs in six visits to the area. Had the grilled seafood salad. Absolutely delicious. My friend had the grilled seafood combo and loved it. All good. Highly recommended.

Seafood chain restaurant with delicious food. They have a great bar with a good selection of beer and wine. The wait staff is very professional and very helpful. It is more expensive than most chain restaurants, but worth it for the quality of the food.

On this date, 4/26/13, my husband and I went for the first time to Doc’s Oyster House for the first time because my husband knew that I love raw oysters and wanted to surprise me. When we arrived it was crowded and the hostess told us it would be a half hour wait. While waiting another family left and we overheard the mother telling her children that the lady was very nasty and she never wants them to be nasty like her. Within 5 minutes we were surprisingly called to be seated which made us very happy. When we were seated, we were literally at a tiny table for two between the exit and entrance for the bar both at one entrance directly behind my husband and one directly behind myself. The hostess told us there may be a periodic exit or entrance behind us. Needless to say, it was constant. My husbands clams were very very gritty. His fish & chips seemed to be all batter. However, my raw oysters were delicious and I really enjoyed my surf & turf special. BUT when we got home and I looked in my box for my leftovers……..the only thing in there was my steak. But, she packed my uneaten salad and salad dressing. My potatoes and my mixed vegetables were MIA. I was very disappointed. We did not mind the prices of what we ordered but felt that our location against the wall between two exit/entrance doors to the bar was poorly situated. We are very easy to please but the location of our seating, my husband’s fish and chips full of batter and the lack of packing my entire leftovers left us a little disappointed. Although we realize it is very hard to get great service and great food when an establishment is crowded, we were still disappointed.

This place has awesome seafood. Fresh (and being from Washington state I can tell) seafood, an unexpected treat. However expect to pay the price, it is a little pricey. This should not make anyone weary as the bartenders were very friendly, the food fresh very tasty ( I had Maryland lobster soup, crab cakes, fresh oysters, clam steamers and blackened scallops) the place was also fairly clean.

I’m using my full REAL name because my experience here was that awful. I NEVER complain or leave reviews. I ordered what I always get, the salmon with crab hash. This was my favorite dish here. I told the waitress the chef forget to add the crab hash. She refueled to believe me and said they finley shred the crab over the vegetables. This was not true. I have had this dish serval times before and I could clearly tell there was no crab hash. Then when the check came I discovered the waitress charged us for 7oz glasses of wine when we ordered 4 oz. If she was trying to rack up the bill for a bigger tip it failed because I tipped her 5%. I didn’t take my anger out on her because of the chef, she deserved that tip for being a non existent waitress who barely checked on us and for giving us 7 oz glasses of wine when we ordered 4. I’m sorry if I don’t know what a 4 oz glass of wine looks like. I assumed what she gave us was what we ordered. It’s a shame. I know a restaurant this size won’t care about my review but now I have no where in Scranton to go to for good seafood.
