DJ’s Clam Shack was created in late 2009 when two Florida Keys restaurateurs decided to combine years of experience to create easily accessible fresh seafood for Key West locals. The newly formed partnership was steeped in rich northeast seafood tradition, with one partner hailing from Ipswich, Massachusetts and the other from Blue Point, New York. This rich tradition has made its way to the beautiful St. Augustine Historic District, one of Florida’s most sought-after seafood destinations. As featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri in 2014 and again in 2020. Menu includes, lobster rolls, whole-belly clams, clam chowder, steamed clams, tacos, and more!

People were very nice. The atmosphere was nice with live music. And the lobster roll was good. But I’m realizing that I’m not really a lobster roll fan. We also got the special which was the clam chowder on the fries and a shrimp roll. Both rolls came with a side of coleslaw that was decent. The food was good just nothing stood out.

I was in St Augustine for a couple days andthe first day I decided to get a lobster roll and eat it in the upstairs dining area. The lobster roll was great , good portion for the price, considering the area. The atmosphere was nice and the place was pretty clean, so the next day I went back and I got the lobster salad and again, pretty good portion for the price. They use a key lime vinaigrette dressing that is SOOO good !!! I DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE for a good lobster roll or salad! DEFINITELY THE BEST VALUE IN TOWN FOR LOBSTER ROLLS!!!

This is a very nice place. They had a band playing outside. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing but also energetic with the music. There is inside and outside seating. The decor was also pleasing. You order your food inside and they give you a beeper for when your food is ready to pick up. The food was great! I will definitely go back.

I come to DJ’s Clam Shack every time I’m in St. Augustine because it never disappoints. The clam chowder is my absolute favorite, and the shrimp roll is always amazing — you get a really good amount of shrimp. I’ve had the chowder fries and the lobster roll in the past, and those are great too. This time I tried the sweet potato fries and they were really good as well. Highly recommend!

Amazing! it was a fabulous place. The place had a great vibe. We ate outside but there is inside seating upstairs. The food: The clam chowder was full of clams with a great flavor. The best lobster roll I’ve ever eaten. Large bites of sweet, delicate lobster and a flavorful, buttery, garlicky roll. The calamari was so fresh and tender you almost didn’t need to chew. Loved it!!

Five stars without hesitation. This is easily one of the top five lobster rolls I’ve ever had, and I travel all over the country for work, so that list isn’t exactly short. DJ’s packs theirs with fresh, sweet lobster in a way that makes you feel like they’re trying to spoil you. The roll is perfectly toasted, the fries come out crispy enough to actually crunch, and the whole plate just hits.
The courtyard vibe seals the deal. It’s the kind of spot where you sit down for lunch and suddenly consider canceling the rest of your afternoon. Laid-back, welcoming, and the perfect place to demolish a lobster roll that won first place for a reason.

Quick service, great portions, and very tasty food. The lobster roll could’ve used a bit more salt (for my liking) but overall delicious. I’d absolutely go back again. Clam chowder fries were absolutely out this world.

The atmosphere is good. They have seating indoors but we selected outside seating. We had our small dog with us. The lobster rolls are so good. I prefer garlic and butter. They have both types so if you want Mayo you may have your roll that way as well. The bread roll used was just delicious bThe calamari was fresh and tender. The clam chowder was rich and thick. Overall, it was very good and worth the trip.
