Great food in the fried chicken wings and fried catfish 2 way large. 2 way means 2 meats and large means 5 pieces of meat per serving versus regular means 3 pieces of meat per. They were delicious! The side like baked beans, were a miss. Tasted like chili, and yams were just OK, don’t look in the back expecting to see your grandma on the side dishes. The red velvet was decent. The chicken and fish are the calling card for this place. Note the place is located in what some people view as a sketchy area. However, you should be fine but use your discretion. I will come again.

Friendly Atmosphere, Clean Floors and Parking Lot…All The Worker’s Spoke English Clearly and They were engaging in Friendly Conversation with Humor!!! Their Smiles were Real and They Repeated The Order Clearly…I was impressed with the Experience and The Tables and Chair’s are back!!! The Only drawback was The Fried Ribs were a little hard and not Hot as usual but Meaty!!! Previous Owners Cook The Order Fresh…not Warmed…Salute!!!

I enjoy Dixon’s. I like it better than a lot of places in Oakland that serve soul food. The condiments could be better but they can fry some fish. The batter that they used gives the fried food a good tasty crunch. I would definitely be back and would also recommend them.

For me, the truth is, I would not go to eat once, I went and bought the special Half Chicken with French fries, I waited about 20 minutes but when I tried the chicken, I didn’t It was well cooked and the employees just look at you, ask something and ignore you. You enter and it smells dirty and it looks dirty. I don’t like it, that’s my opinion, but go ahead, try it and leave your Comments if you like it have a good time thanks

Amazing fried chicken and fish, I get it every time I’m in Oakland. Extremely affordable as well. Entirely worth the trek through what looks like a war zone for this chicken. It’s that good. Mac and cheese is great as well. Not so hot on the bbq ribs, but regardless, everything is fresh and delicious.
