This place is awesome. We got hot dogs and chili cheese fries. Everything was served piping hot, toasted English hot dogs were the best I’ve had in years,the chili is something special. Will stop by this place every time I drive through the town. OMG Hidden Gem…..

Good little food stand. They have a little covered space with 6 picnic tables to eat at. We got a few hotdogs, a plain, 1 with chili and cheese, 1 with chili, onions, ketchup, mustard and then 1 with chili, mustard and onions. 1 order of chicken nuggets, fries and onion rings. Once food is done they bring it out the side door for you. They forgot one of our dogs, but once I let them know, they apologized and made it fairly quick. We liked the hot dogs themselves and buns, which they butter and grill, unfortunately none of us liked their chili. It’s a very sweet chili, not sure if this is a taste of the area, but we all scooped it off the dogs. Fries and rings were good. We then went back and ordered some ice cream, then gave us our sons cone for free, so they went way out of their way to make their error correct. Super nice people! They even brought our dog Lucy a cup of Ice Cream too.

Stopped in on a whim for dinner and LOVED it! Great service, fast and delicious! The fries were hot and seasoned perfectly…my husband got the Patriot and I got a grilled chicken sandwich. It didn’t feel like your typical diner/drive in food – it was way better! Plus we had to get a cone for dessert….so yummy and nostalgic! This place is a gem!

Staff was friendly, kind, and informative (from out of state).
Got chicken tenders combo and 2 hotdogs. Loved the buns on the hotdogs. Unfortunately, when we finished and went to get ice cream, they were out of vanilla. We got a small chocolate cone… it tasted like a Wendy’s frosty back in the early 2000s! Bathroom was clean and so were the picnic style tables.
We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

My new favorite place for softserve ice cream. Today was the first time we visited, and unfortunately for us, this is the last weekend for the 2023 season. Can’t wait for next year’s opening. If you get a chance to stop by tomorrow, do it. I would have posted a pic of my ice cream cone, but I was excited to try it out, I forgot to take a pic. Might go back tomorrow to try them out again. If not, I’ll be sure to post one next season.
Updated June 9th, 2024 – Decided to go for a drive to get something to eat and decided to visit Dixie’s to try a Hot Dog. We weren’t disappointed. The hot dogs and onion rings are delicious. Followed up with ice cream and an order of Funnel Fries. The fries are addictive, use caution (lol). If you are in the area or you are looking for somewhere to go for a drive, consider Ansted and stopping in at Dixie’s for a bite to eat. You’ll be happy you did.
NOTE: Dixie’s has outdoor seating and walk up window for ordering.

Nice place to stop for lunch or icecream break. Covered outside seating with overhead fans, no inside seating. Easy access right off the road. Food was good, seasoned and crispy fries, Pepsi products and tea for drinks. Burger is a bit small, order a double if you are hungry.

My gosh this is a great place as great food all the different ice creams and freezes and then a splits great hamburgers hot dogs onion rings and a super friendly place to go All made fresh cooked when you order and they always have a special please visit this place it is awesome

It was about 20 minutes wait after ordering but it was worth it! They had a nice covered area to sit at. I had the BLT and it was crispy and the bread was awesome! Perfect stop after hawks nest hike!

Dixie’s Drive-in has amazing food, awesome ice cream and a laid back caring crew! I recommend them to anybody near the Ansted area! Honestly they are worth the drive if that’s what it takes! Go check them out! You won’t be dissatisfied
