We hadn’t been back to Dixie diner in about a year. We recently had some people come in for the holidays over New Year’s and took them for breakfast at the diner. It seemed like there was no heat on in the building and it was uncomfortably cold. There was only one person serving. A few in our party ordered, scrambled eggs and thought that the serving size was very small. The potatoes that came with breakfast had no taste at all. Service was slow trying to get another cup of coffee because there was only one server. We don’t think we will go back. It’s too bad because they had a great reputation and great food. The only good thing I can say was that the person serving was very pleasant!

The quintessential diner. Lovely waitress and great diner cook. I am a great fan of diners and will definitely come back here. Today at noon it was the gray-haired crowd complete with walkers.

Friendly staff and good service, but unfortunately the food fell short. The dishes were overpriced for what was served and lacked flavor. Our home fries were burnt and overcooked and the coffee tasted burnt as well. The menu is very basic, which is fine, but I was disappointed by the overall quality and taste of the food.

First you take a moment to admire it because it was prepared specifically for YOU and was beautifully plated. Then you pick up your fork, dig in and savor every single, flavorful bite!
Then you thank Chef Taylor, Donna and Ken at Dixie Diner, 1724 Brevard Road in Hendersonville for a job well done! Omelette and English Muffin perfection and superb, friendly service! You are treated like family at Dixie Diner! “Nothing Could Be Finer!” ❤
My omelette was GENEROUSLY filled with fresh sautéed mushrooms, spinach and crumbled feta cheese. You can also order it as egg white omelette as well, which we often do! It comes with homefries or grits, choice of bread. We ask for fresh fruit and an English muffin instead. I like my Eng muffin toasted well, if you like yours that way be sure to ask for it. Their omelettes and scrambles are ALWAYS top notch. Always beautifully plated… you definitely eat with your eyes first at Dixie. ❤

Ken welcomed us as if he’d known us all his life. He’s a good ole boy from Clinton, SC who’s made his life up here. We were in the area for an overnight ‘just because’ trip from Greenville. Food, service, everything was great. The best, true ‘homestyle’ breakfast I’ve had in a while. Gotta stop by. My wife says the grits were very good.

Food is not worth the price some of it okay but hit and miss and twice the price it should be., staff is average to grumpy, pretty dusty and gross especially back into the bathrooms, but then again this place has been there for ..well since the train used to go by, DO NOT rely on the fake 5 star reviews they or there friends put up, always amazed me that the “owner” response would always blame the patron for a negative review or shine em for not really eating there….that’s a sure warning sign there. Place is a dive for tourists and half back locals, you’ve been warned.

Awesome little spot for some great food! Ken and Abby took great care of me. The bacon and sausage links are unmatched! Truly the best I have had in this area. Just when I thought I was finished they blessed me with a free side of grits topped with gravy. They were phenomenal. I wish I could eat more carbs currently because if that gravy was any indication the biscuits and gravy must be to die for. If you are looking for a place to grab breakfast or lunch give them a try! My pictures of the meal aren’t perfect because I started eating before taking them.

I only gave a star,so I could leave a review. I came in at 1:30 pm the open sign was on and the hours on the door said close at 2 pm . I was told sit where ever you like I chose a seat and before I sat blonde woman asked what will you drink I haven’t even sat yet ,I asked for coffee and then I asked if they had any cake ,from behind the counter a young man said we haven’t had cake for a year and a half . He offered to grill a muffin I replied thanks let me look at the menu my coffee was put on the counter by the blonde woman . I sat down and she brought me a menu no milk or cream I asked for milk she replied we have cream then added do you want whole milk I said yes she looked annoyed she brought the milk within two minutes then said what will you have we close in twenty minutes I felt rushed and said well if it’s too late I’ll just have the coffee. she responded oh no you can have anything on the menu I reluctantly ordered a cheese burger and potatoes she still looked annoyed I should have left then .
my burger came over cooked with some half melted shredded cheese on top and the mornings left over potatoes yuk . then they shut all the dining room lights off I could go on but I just sy the food was not good I ate half and paid my bill I left no tip and will never come back to this old cruddy diner.
I can’t understand how any one would give the 5 star rating the place is crusty the service is bad and the food is worse .

Part one of breakfast at a southern diner. This one was already a bit pricey and touristy. But more authentic than many in the DMV. Biscuits and gravy is a southern dish. Diners are a classic American thing and they serve breakfast all day. #diner #breakfast

Nice diner for breakfast. Plenty of seating. We had the breakfast buffet. Lots of good food to eat. They never had the bacon out, which was disappointing for the price.
The biscuits they make here are excellent. I only tried a few items at the buffet as we were on a schedule, just passing through, and didn’t have the time to stuff ourselves.
Of the items I tried, I loved the biscuits and gravy, loved the cheesy potatoes, I liked the hash and sausages, Pattie’s and links. That was all I had time to try, which is my loss really, as everything looked good.
Friendly staff. Quick service. Easy checkout. Really good food. I’d gladly eat here again. Thanks for the fast, great meal!
