This is a full service Italian restaurant. They serve the charred cooked style pizzas. It does require a certain taste. I have tried this style before and am not a fan, so instead, I opted for a pasta dish. The party I was with, they liked their pizza selections. The toppings were fresh. I ordered the rigatoni a la vodka. My dish was not evenly heated, and the pasta was hard. The sauce was piping hot on one side and cold on the other. They serve plenty of drink options. The place is roomy, comfortable, and modern decor. The staff was friendly and helpful. There’s bar seating with televisions. Good place to take the family or hang out with friends. I’m just disappointed with the food.

Great wood fired pizza. I don’t have experience with New Haven pizza, so if this is it, it’s got my vote. Got a white pizza with broccoli Rabe and spinach. That one was modified for someone who can’t eat meat, and Alaina was great in helping us build that pizza. Also ordered a Deluxe, which was an excellent choice as well. Liked them both so much that we ordered a vegetable pizza to go for the cold pizza test. (it passed, still great the next day!) Beer selection was great, and I was happy to see the Cape Charles brewing IPA on tap. Looks to be a good selection of wine, and I noticed spirits at the bar as well. The space is really nice, with a decent mix of tables as well as seating at the bar. Parking was available in an adjacent lot as well as on street parking. I am looking forward to returning for some more of this pizza.

This place is awesome! We are so glad we found this place; the vibes were up there even at 9:30pm which was great for us night owls. The focaccia looked unassuming but was a perfect combination of flavors. Our server was so nice to us and gave us many recommendations. The brick oven spinach sausage ricotta pie though…. it’s good good. Like one of the best pizzas I’ve had this year. We are coming back next time for more

As a fellow business owner across the street from District Apizza (pronounced District Ah-Beets) and knowing Matt’s passion for his new Italian Restaurant, we’ve been anxiously waiting for them to open. The food did not disappoint! And the service was fantastic too. I loved the Meatball Ricotta pizza cooked crispy and delicious in a wood fired oven imported from Italy. Fried dough and sauce was really yummy
Update: I’ve been back several times. Still delicious. The last pizza ordered was mozzarella with pepperoni, sausage, and extra cheese. So good. The crust is just incredible!

As a previous Connecticut native, I can say this pizza was good! I miss a New Haven style pie- this hit the spot last night. We ordered the meatballs, arancinis, sausage, ricotta and spinach pizza- all delicious! It was a Saturday night, so it took a while for the apps to come out. The service was great and we made reservations for 7:30. If in the area, we’d happily return!

Basically a brand new place, they’ve only been open for 30 days. But on the approach the place was packed. Had about a 20 25 minute wait. Once seated we were greeted by Tatiana, she was very nice broke down the menu and explained what things were. I ordered an appetizer and a pizza took a few minutes to get the food because the place was packed but it was worth the wait. Pizza was very good and it was flavorful with a crispy crust. The owner came to the table and spoke with me and he was very nice and very informative on the restaurant and the goals he’s trying to reach with it being open. Definitely will be attending again.

This is the place for North East Pizza lovers! Charred crust baby. The pasta is also incredible so go and enjoy. The bar team and staff and owner for that fact are so cool and engaging. I will be going back regularly. Oh, and try the eggplant parm stack appetizer.

4 stars for their pizza but 2 stars for their cocktails bringing this review to 3 stars. We tried the meatball pizza and the chicken parm pizza, both were delicious. But if you’re getting drinks, stick to beer! I had 2 cocktails and both were just not good. I looked over their cocktail menu a little better once I got my 2nd bad drink and noticed some weird things in their menu, such as adding ginger beer to an Aperol Spritz. One of the drinks I ordered, the Mule of Venice, had muddled cherries but they were not muddled enough and I was drinking plain old sugar out the bottom of the drink. I was surprised with how quickly it came out but now I know it was because they didn’t take the time to muddle it properly. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty slow, but service was good and the pizza came out quickly.

Didn’t get to eat. Sat and was never acknowledged and left
Edit: after reading other reviews that appear to be my experience I am providing more details. We arrived and was seated immediately. We were seated against the left wall and 3-4 parties had just finished/were finishing up. In the 15 minutes we decided to wait. No server acknowledged us, or even looked in our direction. 3 different servers constantly pacing back and forth past us. It’s obvious our table was in one of their sections and they made the decision to handle whatever they felt like needed done over the course that took priority over a sliver of service. I read the comment about a woman who waited an hour just for them to tell them they don’t have anything/ovens are broken and I’m glad we saw where it was headed and avoided it.
I am not trying to bash local business but the servers definitely need to be trained on hospitality. They need to know it’s ok to be busy, but you should at least acknowledge customers with a “Hi, sorry I am cleaning up right now but I will be back in one second to take your order” vs just ignoring people and pretending like they don’t exist until you are ready to do your job.
Personally, due to my experience and the shared experience written in the reviews. I would never recommend someone try this place and actually would discourage them if the mentioned it to me.
Side note: the place smelled like old Parmesan and cleaning solution so it wasn’t a hard decision to leave when the perceived service matched the aroma of the place…. Bad

Really good pizza and appetizers. They were out of cannoli so we didn’t get any of that. The meatball and ricotta pizza was so good. 4 of us split one 22in pizza (2 slices each) and it was the perfect amount of food with splitting two appetizers as well! (Focaccia and fried risotto balls). We will be back soon!
