An experience surely. We went there without a reservation as we were on a holiday and looking for a good place to eat. This gem is totally Halal. We had to have a bit of a wait but they entertained us at the bar seating area which was nice and cozy. The staff is brilliant. They are attentive , present, they know the menu and will make recommendations (good ones too) loads of virgin drinks options which was a plus for all of us. They were delicious. Coming to the appetisers tried fried okra. It was bursting with tangy flavour, crunchy and scrumptious. Rest of the feed had authentic Indian flavours which was different from what I was used to. Ambiance was cozy and lulls u into tranquility. For desert chose kheer which even after eating for so many times, was totally enjoyable and a tasty. All in all definitely recommend.

Best place to experience the Indian Persian cuisine in Edinburgh. The food is great. We tried Murgh Malai, Sheekh Kebap and Gunpowder potatoes and Chili Brocoli Salad which we all enjoyed. Sheekh Kebap tastes similar to Turkish kebap and spicy. The Murgh Malai was amazing! We had the puding with spicy hot ice at the end which we loved! The service is good and fast. The atmosphere is great. There is not much noise although they have many tables and the inner decoration is unique. Recommended for a good evening with your beloved ones.

Food is very nice you can enjoy all king of food they have very nice paw bhaji must try.

But make sure you told them before that don’t add so called service charge it’s 12.5% of total bill.

After check your bill we told them to remove the service charge charges and they are not happy with it they give us wired look after that.

If they need a tip or service charges 12.5% asked the customer before you make a bill.

We go there 3 times in 2 days. Everything is good. If you ok to pay 12.5% service charges.

Tips : they have tea refill system still 17:00 pm

We’ve had breakfast here half a dozen times now and I really enjoy it. Great experience every time.

The staff are very attentive, I love the atmosphere and most importantly, the breakfast options available. Really delicious.

For drinks, I personally love the house chai which comes with refills as required, but there’s an excellent range of teas, coffees, drinks, cocktails as well as many alcohol free options.

Had dinner at Dishoom with the family day before NYE in Edinburgh, we went to the permit room (bar) while we waited for our table, I have to say the cocktails were amazing, creative and good use of Scottish Gin. I’d 100% go back for the drinks and get some food as apps.

After 45 min wait we got our table, we ordered several dishes (pictures below) Pav Bhaji is my favorite dish generally speaking, they advertised it with a twist so I was curious. It tasted fine to me, nothing talk about honestly, we ordered their famous keema Pav, to my surprise the keema was bit dry for me, I was expecting a bit of gravy, however the spices/taste were on point, I’d eat it again!. My favorite was the seek kebab, it was juicy, succulent and tasty. The other favorite was the freshly made rumali roti’s I don’t see a lot of rumali roti in the US, so enjoyed it. Lastly we ordered the ruby chicken which is their take on butter chicken. It was delicious!

Service was fantastic, staff was nice to us and helpful, ambience was cool, loved watching the cooking on the first floor

I’d go back for the drinks and apps, found it quite over priced for Indian street food

I’ve had Dishoom on my list for a while and I’m so glad to have finally been able to visit! The food did not disappoint, and the service was so helpful and friendly. Ask your server for their recommendations because they are genuine and know what is best to support your dining experience. Can’t wait to go back for brunch next time!

Am a big fan of Dishoom; have eaten their food in London and Manchester many times. Unfortunately the Edinburgh’s restaurant was the worse one as the food’s quality. I and my friend had a stomach ache after eating here. Hope the restaurant’s manager will consider my comment. Apart from this (huge issue), the service was very good and the atmosphere was like just like the Dishoom. Please make it better and healthier for your customers.

What an amazing place.

Extremely busy and we visited on a Monday night. We booked as we were a group of six and I am glad I did as the wait was 90mins or more.

It’s clear why this place is busy, the food is fantastic and the service is good.

We ordered mains with rice and naan, along with small plates and shared amongst us.

An absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. I know the restaurant has many branches across the UK, but the Edinburgh branch is on another level. The food was exceptional, rich in authentic flavors, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The service was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Every detail reflected quality and passion. Without a doubt one of the best Indian dining experiences I’ve had. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be coming back again❤️❤️
