Happened upon this place while in town and was intrigued, walked in at 12:20 and it was a ghost town, kind of made me think a bit.
Menu looked pretty awesome so decided to stay and give it a try. Ordered the Shrimp and Grits.
The food came out in a reasonable time but was not hot, deviled egg that came with it (not on menu) was dry on the top like it had sit out. First bite was egg, pretty good. Second biscuit, good but cold. Then the shrimp and grits. The sauce was not my favorite but maybe it’s just a style thing, heavy on cream and less on more traditional shrimp and grits style but ok. After first bite I had to spit out a shrimp shell and then noticed there were miscellaneous pieces of shrimp shell and antenna in the dish and even a dark hair. The kitchen had not cleaned the shrimp properly and were must have been sloppy on their cleanliness. This is why the low rating.
Service was excellent, atmosphere cool, probably better if there would have been other people there.
Makes me wonder if the locals know what’s coming from the kitchen.
Might try the comedy night when hopefully there’s a crowd there.

Very under rated place. From the outside, I was a bit skeptical. After being seated, I was a bit more hopefully. The service was very attentive, drinks were delivered quickly and great suggestions were given when I asked about food. Everything tasted and felt homemade. The fried rice with pot roast was FANTASTIC. The pot roast was very tender, bursting with flavor and the rice was the best southern fried rice I’ve ever had. The chicken and dumplings were spot on just like my granny made. Our key lime pie was a very large serving and also homemade. I highly recommend this spot and will certainly return

The food arrived hot, fresh, truly delicious. Portions were generous, leaving no room for hunger. Every bite was perfectly seasoned without needing anything extra. I meant to take a photo of this fish sandwich before taking a bite because it looked so delicious from the start. But it smelled so good and I accidentally took a bite and it tasted so delicious, so I took another. Finally, I realized that I needed to take a photo – even if it was a half eaten fish sandwich. Best fish sandwich I’ve ever had. Best service. Cheap drinks.

Dish is my favorite place to go for food and beverages! Ciara always takes care of me. Tonight, I was craving some fried green tomatoes and they did not disappoint! Perfectly cooked and the horsey dill sauce is sooo good! If you need a place with good food and good drink prices…EAT (or drink). AT. DISH!!

Visited on a Friday mid-afternoon and had a great meal with great service. My burger was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. The deviled eggs appetizers was very good and the broccoli salad was delicious.

All I can do is shake my head . Maybe 1 day I will try again but that’s a longggggggg maybe !! The picture is of Fried Green Tomatoes and it cost me $12.00 give or take a few pennies. No flavor and are burnt I also noticed that in these reviews they ( dish ) never apologize to any bad reviews or try to make there mistakes right they only give attention to the good reviews only !!! What does that tell you about them carrying about disappointed customers it’s sad when no one takes responsibility for their mistakes and burnt or over cooked food !!! It show its just about the money and not the people

I Doordashed the food & I left a review there and had to make a Google review as well to let those who know real country flavorful food to not get the Country Fried Steak , Mashed potatoes (unless you like sweet mashed potatoes and gravy) or those smoked Lima beans ! I ate the country fried steak but it wasn’t something I’d get again from here ever . The potatoes I threw away & the Lima beans. I don’t know what that was but that was a complete no ! The biscuit was good & the deviled eggs were basic , definitely was not made with love. Some may like it but I’m from SC and this would not fly at all down there. I hate to bad mouth someone’s food but I have to be honest so others won’t waste their money as I did. Hopefully if you sit in the restaurant the customer service makes up for the food. This is definitely not for people who enjoys real flavor.

I love Dish! It’s a Charlotte/Plaza classic. Their menu is diverse and fairly priced, and has a good selection of very delicious vegan/vegetarian options for those who need them. The staff is always very kind and accommodating and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I love the unique decorations on the walls as well. My fiancé and I also ordered late night takeout one night recently and it was well packaged and delicious.
