Since I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 25+ years I know that, at small restaurants food is often reheated and served as compared to making it from scratch. Again, totally understandable as one may not know if it’s going to be a slow or busy day.
I had ordered 1 Pav Bhaji with 1 extra order of bread (both breads under cooked). It should have taken 10 minutes at max for them to have my food ready. All they needed to do was reheat the Bhaji and grill the bread. However it took 20 minutes.
And no, they were not busy. Given the fact that the people who were already seated, prior to me arriving there, already had their food in front of them and were in the process of eating or just chatting.
This is the most basic Indian food to make and most common food that people order. I don’t know how you people serve under cooked bread.
The inside was not cooked properly nor was the top. See pics. My advice would be, go across the street at Chowpatty and go in the back, and ask for the amigos to show you (or whoever your cooks are in the back) how to grill bread properly. Get your staff trained properly.
Last but not least, when I told the waiter to give me one more order of extra bread he wrote down 2 extra orders. I am like bro what am I going to do with 6 pieces of bread and one order of bhaji??? Feed the birds? The kid was polite but just confused. Basic training to actually cooking food properly. I was going to try other food from here but I guess this is it.
I don’t understand how hard it is to control the amount of freaking oil you put in your food.
Listen, I respect small businesses and it’s very hard to stay in the market.
However, word of mouth comes with a lot of power. This happened twice and no improvement is just ridiculous.
That was my last time ordering food from you guys.
Thank you! Good luck with your business!
Let’s start with vadapav, when you order it comes in pair. I have never tried this worst Vadapav ever. They put achar masala in vadapav which leaves bitter taste after each bite.
Ordered Bombay style Frankie and it was all sour and threw it away the whole. Upon asking sever he said this is how it tastes. ( after ordering multiple items he wasn’t ready to even listen to)
Pavbhaji was okaies and could taste boiled vegetables. Couldn’t feel any type of masala or spices.
Dabeli was better than other food options. It also comes in pairs and was bit sweet but overall good.
Ordered Dahi puri with aloo masala, it was good.
Raj kachori was good but they put moong in it that kills the taste. If you are not fan of lot of moong taste in your mouth don’t order it.
Tried build your own paratha with paneer, chilies and cheese. They give you options with amul and regular cheese make sure you get one with amul cheese. Comes with Dahi and aachar.
Service : The worst hospitality, makes you feel like you are there for free food. The server was very arrogant and couldn’t answer questions regarding to menu. Whatever he replied was very arrogant.
I wouldn’t recommend going here. There are better places in the area with better management and customer service.
Other (Indian) restaurants have food that’s is much more better and far less oily.
We tried to eat a few bites of everything before we had to throw it out. It was too scary to look at, because of the oil that kept seeping out of the food. We tried to drain as much as possible and oil kept on coming.
The overall taste was not good at all. I tasted straight oil/ghee and could feel like throwing up.
If you don’t mind oily food and food that tastes like straight spice with little to no flavor, then this is the restaurant for you. I can handle spice to an extreme extent, but with flavorless food, there is not much I can like.
As an Indian myself, I cannot recommend this place to others, whether it is for a quick bite or a sit-down dinner/lunch.
Save your time and go to Taco Bell for a quick bite or Spice Bazaar in Westfield for quality food.
