I grew eating here! But 20 years ago I moved to Florida and this setup of double hot dogs with potatoes and ketchup in Fl is unheard of. It was nice to go back home and eat.

I had a great experience at Dickie Dee’s. Been scouting for Scary Good Eats and this place is on everyone’s list. I was told to try the Pizza as well and was pleasantly surprised. Had a lot of flavor, really wanted another slice, but was there for the Italian Hot Dog which delivered as advertised. I will definitely be going back.

I went To Dickie Dee’s with my buddies today. In our younger years Dickie Dee’s and Jimmy Buffs was a staple to our eating habits today I had the combo, sauge and hotdog. It was very good. Bread , hot dog, sausage onions, all perfectly cooked. But I didn’t like the peppers as much. They were not deep fried like the onions and tasted alittle vinegary, like out of a jar. But all in all the sandwich was good.

A relic of a different time. Old school cash only place serving up unique takes on classic New Jersey lunch. The double dog all the way is the way to go. They take a pizza dough picket line the bottom with mustard, throw 2 hotdogs in there, top it with peppers, onions, and fried potatoes and top with ketchup. This thing is unlike anything you’ll ever have but so familiar of your childhood. Fairly priced, but make sure to ask for extra napkins because this is messy. You’ll also need some tums for later. But the inside is nostalgic of the old pizza places that used to be all over this state and are slowly dwindling. I love this place on more levels than one

Home of the classic Italian Hot Dog, Dickie Dee’s is a Newark staple. I would order the single or double Italian hot dog (hot dog in pizza bread with peppers, onions, and fried potato wedges with ketchup/mustard). The pizza is good, too. Come prepared with your order and cash.

Saw a reel on IG about it and newark style hot dogs, which i never heard before. It said they had the best, and it looked appetizing. Although a bit far from me, it was worth every mile place is clean. The guys behind the counter are great and helpful, the food delightful

This is my go to place from growing up in Newark, best hotdogs and pizza. I went in the summer to take my boyfriend so that he could taste the food and The guy at the counter was very rude, no type of sense of humor. My boyfriend is very friendly and was asking the heavy set white guy with a baseball cap at the counter questions on the menu board and the worker ignored him completely. I was embarrassed as this was my go to spot, and me telling my boyfriend how a good food spot this was, and the worker was rude. I’m not sure if these were the New Owners or family members taking over for the owners of Dickie Dee’s, but one thing for sure I will never go back, due to poor customer service and 0 sense of humor.I would rather go somewhere else..

My experience at Dickie Dees was very good and the fact that I live nearby and haven’t been is crazy. So I went for lunch. Dickie Dees is known for there Italian Hot Dog which is a hot dog on pizza bread with ketchup, mustard, onions, peppers and fried potatoes. It was very good but messy make sure you get a knife and a fork. I wish they had more hot dog meat because all I tasted was fried potatoes which is my I ate this with a fork. The service was good and the prices are reasonable I would definitely come back.

I wanted to like this place. I swear I did. But it’s a no for me dog. No pun intended. I ordered the Italian hot dog because I was craving a good jersey dog, but I was sadly disappointed. The bread is good but too big to eat any of the ingredients all at once. Almost $9 for a triangle sandwich was OD and it was really flavorless. I think the thing that bothered me the most was the older man who worked in the back with both hands on all the hotdogs; no gloves. I wouldn’t try again and I wouldn’t recommend, however I do encourage you to try it for yourself and form your own opinion.
