A friend highly recommended this location, so I went in around noon yesterday, and it was empty of patrons. The young man working was a little timid, as he barely greeted me and simply took my order. He never asked anything out of the required questions to get the order keyed in, not even what sauces I wanted, if any.
The restaurant is a little odd, like others have stated. It’s narrow, so you have to stand back in the archway of the restrooms to read the menu.
My ribs were super dry. That’s it, that’s all for that.
The brisket and Texas toast were excellent. My mom said they were the best that she has had at a BBQ location in the area.
My husband loved the fried okra. I thought that the okra and the fries had a little too much salt, which is an easy adjustment for the staff.
The potato salad and green beans were good.
Contrary to others, I feel like they are fairly priced when you consider the economy their competitors and not to mention the cost of owning a business in NoVa’s real estate market.
While the restaurant was empty, the online orders were coming back to back, and a lady joined the young man towards the end of my wait to help out. She seemed annoyed that he had not called her for help, but the nonetheless she provided the accuracy that my order was correct and that I had all of my items, including asking me about sauce.
Overall, it’s a good start for what I hope is a long future for them.

I went there at noontime.
The restaurant was clean, but kind of strange, narrow with limited space to sit.
There is a small bar with a few chairs, and besides the bar, I saw only one table to use if you want to eat inside.
The quality of their food is not bad, but their prices are high for what you receive.

There were a few issues,
1. Only one person worked there at the noontime. He tried his best ( that is the reason I give 3 stars, otherwise, I would have given them a max of 2 stars), but it was hard to take orders, prepare the food, do the cashier job, and also take care of the online orders. With three customers in front of me, a long time to wait just to give my order!

2. Their menu, there was a burger menu on the paper, but no other items ( shown on the wallboard) were included on that menu.
Not an easy way to follow the menu.

3. Their brisket seemed old and leftover. It seems they still don’t know how much food they have to prepare on a daily basis.

Met the owner/manager Kelvin outside the store one day and he convinced us to come back and try them out. We stopped by yesterday and had a great time taking advantage of Happy Hour beer prices and sampling their salmon special, sausages, Brussels sprouts and potatoes. Everything was delicious – especially the Mac & Cheese sausage and the smoked salmon! Kelvin seems like a great guy who is doing his best to make this place unique. Hoping we might even see them over at Friday Night Live one day. Wishing them the best of luck, and we plan to return!

DO NOT GO HERE! I love BBQ and was excited to try something new while out in the Herndon area for work. I’d never heard of this place. I ordered a pound of brisket, it was absolutely terrible. Dry as a bone and covered in a salty crust that made it almost inedible. In fact, let’s just say totally inedible. It all ended up in the bin. If you don’t believe me then just look at the photos I attached with this review. In summary, it’s very over priced and terrible quality. Do yourself a favor and find another restaurant.

I finally got the opportunity to eat at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit located in Herndon, VA. Located between MOD Pizza and IHOP, Dickey’s prides itself on diverse customer palate than most Barbecue spots. I mean, they cater to Halal customers as well as the general public. Dickey’s franchise popularize the Texas style barbecue with falk off the bone meats. My first time here, I was greeted and treated to the preparation of my 2-meat platter: pulled pork and brisket with macaroni and cheese with Texas toast and cut fries. As I waited, I was able to capture the atmosphere and cleanliness of this restaurant, BTW has its own bar, although it is not advertised. The facility is not large but seats a small group comfortably. And given their location, this is not at all any different than most restaurant in this shopping center. The facility from front to back, even the restrooms, is meticulously well-maintained and clean to high standards. You can tell the staff (KK) and the general manager (Willon Brown) to take pride in serving their community well. Now, let’s get down to the food. The food at a glance appeared small for its serving, but that was until I began eating and found I could hardly finish the platter. Halfway through, and I was stuffed. I kid you not. And I love to eat, but the servings were just right, and the flavor robust synonymous with Texas BBQ. And he this, if you return with the Dickey’s beverage cup, refills are just $1. But hey, that’s not bad, considering the beverage cups are the standards we were used to pre-pandemic. Here’s more, the Dickey’s restaurant caters too. And to no surprise, their services seem to be popular in the Reston area. Now, there is so much information the general manager and I discussed that it would require more than light reading. My point is this, it’s a great place to get BBQ alone, with friends or family. Do yourself a favor and drop in this 7 month old establishment and enjoy the food, the spirits, and the great customer friendly staff.

DO NOT GO HERE! THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE. The presentation could have been better. My co-worker and I spent $55.00 on two trays of trash. We got two platters with three meats and two sides. I ordered sausage, ribs, sliced brisket, two sides with mac and cheese, fried okra, and a pickle on the side (LOL).

The meat was a letdown. It was devoid of any seasoning, with just a smattering of barbeque sauce that did little to salvage the taste. The mac and cheese tasted like box mac and cheese and was watery. The orka tasted bitter, and the texture was tough. The sausage tasted like a slim Jim! (LOL)

My co-worker ordered chicken instead of the rib on his platter. The chicken was a quarter of a chicken breast.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could not have tried to locate my order, and you don’t see it. You know what you out on that tray. I ordered around 11:15 today.

Keep looking!!!!!!

Probably the worst brisket ever. INEDIBLE! It was old, hard, dry, and super salty. The salt within the meat actually overpowered the taste of the rub, which by comparison was just bland. The vast majority of the order was made up of old, hard, dry burnt ends. Had to throw it away. The fries were old, cold, and greasy. The food was worse than disappointing.
On the positive side the staff was friendly.

For lunch i had the western sandwich plate and I got it with mac and cheese as well as potato salad, the sauces were cooked so nicely and was delivered and made with care. When I received it i tried the sandwich will the Carolina barbecue sauces and they were all delicious. To finish off i had a cookie and man it’s so good.

I am appalled by the okra this time it isntneven cooked all the way it’s soft and soggy and I paid for 3 orders of pickels and got jalapenos, instead, I am really disappointed in this order. Normally the okra is pretty good, but to still see powder on it.Because it’s not cooked all the way through and just this mushy mess, i’m really upset and it’s expensive and it’s not cheap.

Got carry-out for first time. I was expecting the sauce to be on the ribs already, but it wasn’t. The little container if sauce wasn’t enough. I had use sauce from home. The highlight was the ribs were very tender. They were falling off the bone.
The coleslaw was barely ok. Won’t get that again.
The fries were good.
I’d go back for different dishes.
