Dickies Barbecue has been one of my favorite restaurants in Kansas…this day I visited this place with my family that brings back beautiful memories…it was one of the first barbecues I ate in Kansas, unfortunately several establishments have closed and this is one of the ones that It is still open…the food was delicious, the service was very friendly, the place was a little run down and if there was something that we loved it was the free ice cream cone that they gave to customers…today the machine was no longer working it was a shame. .but hey, this place is definitely an excellent place to try BBQ.

Average, the chopped beef was lacking in seasoning and surprisingly smoke. The original and sweet sauces were both pretty good thankfully. The okra was championed as a “local favorite” but it’s the same you get everywhere else and is nothing special. I would try this again because it’s promising but I’d try different items to order.

This doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was so bland. No seasoning on anything. The fries tasted like I was biting straight out of a raw potato. The pulled pork (if you can even call it that) was dry, fatty, and tasted like pulled chicken. The Texas toast was the worst bread I’ve ever tasted. It did not taste like Texas toast. The Mac n cheese, abysmal. The Mac n cheese was so basic and boring, but it was the most edible thing on the plate. Tell me why I spent $50 just to force myself to eat the worstttt food ever. Check out my boyfriend’s bland potato casserole in the photo. Why are the potatoes gray?!?! Never eating here again. Good Dr Pepper though. Btw this is what my plate looked like when we left.

Service was great! Mac and cheese was extremely mushy.
I got the frito pie thinking it was chilli like it seemed to be advertised but it was baked beans. Dinner roll was stale. Everything else was hot and good.

First time at Dickys BBQ pit. Ordered brisket and jalapeno sausage, both of which were cold. Brisket had no particular taste, the jalapeno sausage had good heat. Only two choice of sides as they had run out of the rest, they were cold as well. On the upside, they had chocolate ice cream and drag racing on the tv, faster service, doubt i’ll return to this chain.. About $17.

Tried Dickeys for the first time. Living in KC I’m wary of bbq chains, but I was in the area so I gave it a shot. I had the classic sandwich with sliced brisket and waffle fries. The brisket was good, as was their sweet sauce. I I prefer regular, seasoned fries over waffle fries. What you see in my pic was $14.08. BBQ is expensive, due to the meat and time smoking takes, but this is too much for what I ate. Would I eat there again? Yes, but only if there weren’t other local places nearby which in this case there weren’t.

Absolute horrible experience, I usually love this location but tonight’s experience was not it. The 2 young men along with the adult they had working behind the counter need more people skills and how to work. The younger 2 kids were like deer in headlights and had no idea what was going on half the time, when I asked if I could use my online rewards they all didn’t know how to redeem them in store so I wasted my points and couldn’t use them! SO disappointed!!! Then to come out to my car and think I was going to enjoy my food, to bite into a big long piece of plastic wrap inside of my chopped brisket sandwhich?! Super disgusted with the sloppiness!

The chopped beef was very fatty and greasy hardly any meat. It was served in brown printed paper that couldn’t even aid in soaking up the grease. The fries were greasy cold and burnt, served in a paper dry bag that was literally wet with grease. The Cole slaw was disgusting in that the only thing you taste is onion. It’s served with a piece of ciabatta bread that was so hard I didn’t even try to bite into it. If I could give this place less than one star I would. The money I wasted on this dinner was not appropriate for the quality of food. I will not be wasting my time or money on this garbage again.

This location is amazing! The owner is the sweetest person! The food is delicious and the service super fast. There is a good amount if variety on the menu to choose from. Each night has a different special off the menu for only 9.99 which is cheaper from it’s regular price. This last time I went it was Tuesday so they had the rib plate with beans, cold slaw, a roll and a drink. I had them change from cold slaw to fries though. Its very filling food and they give unlimited ice cream so you won’t leave hungry! Great place for families too! I highly recommend this location!

When they said meat falling off the ribs, they really meant it. My son and I were staying at a hotel nearby and before we left to go home the next day we decided to try some Kansas City Barbecue. We kept our big yellow cups as souvenirs
