Talk about stumbled upon… I’m over here trying to grub hub some bbq and I just kept seeing expensive and bad reviews. So of course Yelp came into play and discovered this little treat!

So it’s a cute little setup- you walk in order and go down the line, kinda like chipotle with bbq. Lol they have the meats/sandwiches first and have specials daily! I ordered the pulled brisket sandwich special which came with two sides a drinks (also did I mention free ice cream). It took a minute as it looked like the staff was running around a lot and got a little overwhelmed. But as you go down the line you order your sides.

I realized the sides (fried) are made to order which is why it took a second. So as I waited for my fried okra I went and got my sweet tea. Next to the drink station is the actual bbg sauce area. I thought it was really cool I could decide what type of sauce I wanted so I took a spice and sweet home with me along with my drink.

Ok so the food itself- brisket was tender and the sandwich itself was packed and satisfying. I layered the sauces so I was indeed happy with that. The Mac & cheese was ok but the okra wasn’t that good it was actually bland. You would think the breading would give it a little more flavor but nonetheless okra isn’t flavorful to begin with.

4 stars because the service was a little all over the place today & the bbq was pretty good for the price.

Very cool BBQ themed decorations, food tasted fresh and delicious. I had their grilled chicken breast with mashed potato casserole and the bacon green beans as my sides. Both sides were very good. The chicken was very well seasoned. Cool souvenir cup. A must try if you’re in the area and in need of a quick delicious meal.

Sunday kids eat for free, ages 12 and under. They must order from the kids menu which only has three meals, a meat plate which offers one meat and one side no drink the drink must be purchased separately, one sandwich meal one side also drink must be purchased separately, and one chicken nugget meal one side and drink must be purchased separately, those are the three kids meal choices. All three choices are excellent for a child, plus they offer unlimited free vanilla ice cream cones 7 days a week to adults and children. The prices are excellent for the portions given, the location is very clean, the restrooms are very clean and smell fresh/well maintained, the staff is very friendly and inviting, and the food is very tasty; all in all it’s a great establishment, family friendly serving great BBQ. If your in the mood for BBQ and in Yonkers NY Central Ave definitely Dickeys BBQ is the place for you and your family. I just recently went there with my children and will be returning soon, and will also be giving them good word of mouth to all my friends, family and acquaintances. The Sunday kids eat free deal is a major reason I will be returning to this establishment and continuesly give them my business.

I love this place! My boyfriend and I are BBQ fanatics and we always had to go downtown just to get BBQ. The quest is over since Dickeys is right in the neighborhood! The food is amazing, as authentic as you can get in Westchester for BBQ. We’ve had the pulled pork, ribs that fall right off the bone and our absolute favorite is the brisket. We go once a week and the service has always been good except once- one of the ladies shift was ending and she had a very bad attitude and was mumbling curse words as she was cutting up the brisket. That was one annoying experience out of the many times that I’ve been here but otherwise, Dickeys BBQ is great!

A little pricey but OMG tasty. This is my favorite BBQ place. The brisket is amazingly good, as is the pulled pork. Tasty beans, and the mac and cheese is also good. Portions are reasonable and they have free ice cream for dessert. I would eat here more often, but it’s so good I would rapidly become morbidly obese. =/

Dickey’s is absolutely amazing! I have never ordered from any BBQ place that the meat is so moist without the puddle of fat under it. The ribs just fell right off the bone with an amazing flavor. I absolutely recommend this restaurant! I will go back again and again

Our favorite BBQ spot. The brisket & ribs are to die for especially with a little bit of the spicy sauce & coleslaw! The free self-serve ice cream is a nice touch & goes over really well with my niece & nephew. The service is always efficient & super friendly. Great food & staff, what more can I say.

very expensive, which would not be a problem if quality of food matches the price, not enough seasoning, pulled pork and brisket was dry, cheddar sausage was ok. sides were good. free ice cream sweetened the blow to your pocket. they did give us a free side due to not mentioning pork in the mashed. that was nice but overall not a fan

So good, I drive from NJ for the pulled pork! The food at Dickey’s in Yonkers is every bit as delicious as the Dickey’s in Texas. Staff is friendly, the restaurant is spotless–and the ice cream is free.:)
FABULOUS catering too! We catered our Easter dinner from Dickey’s and got rave reviews. Their food is perfect for pinics–if you live in an apt, or don’t want to have to deal will grill drama.
Great job Dickey’s!!!

My first impression when we pulled up and were approaching the restaurant: “Uhoh, it’s a chain.”, and as such I expected something of the quality like “Atomic Wings”.

After settling in and figuring out what to order, the first thing my kid said was “Wow, it smells good in here!”, and she’s right. That’s one thing that this place has going for it; Whatever people think of the place, at least this is “real barbecue”. They don’t just boil meat and finish it on the grill with some barbecue sauce (like many other “BBQ” places in NYC). They have a proper smoker and smoke the meat on-premises. You can even see on the wall next to the schedule for when the meat went into the smoker and when it should come out. This works both to their advantage and against; it shows it’s legit barbecue, but they cook their ribs for only 2.5 hours (and I’m a fan of low-and-slow smoked cue). I’ve heard of plenty of legit restaurants in the south who do large-volume barbecue and also cook them this long, so that’s not too big a deal.

We tried the Ribs, Pulled Pork, and Brisket. All un-sauced. The food was respectable. Not mindblowing or what I’d expect from a good Texas/Memphis/Carolinas master, but it was good. Factoring in the price you pay at Hill Country / Dinosaur / etc, this place has decent food and it’s inexpensive.

Positive things have been said about the sides, so I won’t spend much time on it. They We had the Mac & Cheese, Green Beans & Bacon, and Waffle Fries. All were decent.

The service was very good. It’s countertop service, not table-service, but they were very good about handling the crowd, taking the orders, and getting everything right.

All in all, this is place is $$ – $$$ quality for one $ prices. For a quick meal when shopping on central ave, this is a good place to consider.
