I live over 2 hours from Steubenville so driving for pizza isn’t really an option.
However, being in town for the Nutcracker Village was the perfect opportunity to try this local icon.
The crunch when watching a YouTube video and the uniqueness of unmelted cheese had me really curious.
For me, this pizza is OUTSTANDING. The crunch, tangy sauce, hot crust and cool cheese make an incredible combination.
And the staff are great. So friendly. You have a great thing going at DiCarlos. I’ll be back, someday.

Deserves 6 stars. IMO the best pizza in the world but I originally from the area. Others that didn’t grow with this kind of pizza sometimes disagree. You need to eat it right there OR, request the extra cheese in a separate bag so that it stays cold. There is just something special about the hot pizza and cold cheese on top. They only take cash no credit card, but there is an ATM inside the store if you forget.

DiCarlo’s has been a staple in my husband’s family for years. During our most recent visit, I finally got to try this unique style of pizza. Color me impressed, the square cut and crispy crust were delicious! At first glance, the unmelted cheese seemed unappetizing but I was proven wrong.
A full tray, containing 16 pieces can feed a whole family. For $17 per pie, I would say this is the best cheap eats in the area. Make sure to bring cash as the restaurant is cash only. Although they do provide an ATM machine at their location.

This pizza place is a staple of Steubenville Ohio. I will always stop by to grab a slice of pizza for nostalgic moments. But the youth will destroy a good memory and the young lady who answered the phone and took the order seem very confused , which made it difficult for her to answer questions and take an order. My order was incorrect and when another customer asked if she can just purchase the slices that I did not want for they were remaking my order. The young lady was still confused and had to go get the owner. To be able to take verbal instruction is a must. We haven’t even eaten the pizza yet. We got it to bring back home hours away, so it really isn’t the taste of the pizza. It’s just the memory of Di Carlo’s

Not sure what happened to Dicarlos but today I found a very long strain of hair on my pizza. I couldn’t even finish the remaining slices that I ordered. A waste of money. I will not be returning.
