We came here for dinner and the food, people, and decor was amazing! There’s a lot of sea themed decorations that are really beautiful and creative. The staff was really kind and checked in to make sure everything was okay. We ordered the fish and chips, fish chowder, salad, and lobster roll. The food was genuinely good with the fish chowder being a favourite. If you are in the area, you should definitely stop by!

We came to Kingston, ON for a concert and booked a trolley ride. We could smell the delicious aroma of this restaurant next door to the pick up spot. When we ended the trolley tour, our guide said the food was great. We had intended to go to a different place but decided to try this out instead. Boy are we glad we did!! The decor is beautiful and cozy. The margaritas were some of the best we’ve ever had. The calamari was so light and refreshing. Nothing like America calamari! The oysters were delicious and we LOVED fresh grated horseradish. We all got the fish and chips and it did not disappoint! We were excited to see it was gluten free. The servers were all pleasant and gave us tips on other places to go tomorrow. They were able to accommodate us despite having a lot of incoming reservations due to the Christmas parade. Highly recommend!

Diane’s is a Kingston staple and the best gluten free fish and chips in the city. Many menu items are gluten free and the servers are knowledgeable about such dietary issues. We have been here several times and the quality is good and consistent. This is recommended especially for gluten sensitive people.

When there is fresh local fish available it is a good time to go.

A great place in the waterfront area.. superb food and service.. the fish and chips were incredible.. so light and fresh.. loved the apple cider batter!! tacos and burgers equally amazing.. and the French fries a crispy delight.. need I say more 🙂 parking in the summer may be a bit more challenging.

Super warm and inviting from the moment you step in. The staff is so incredibly welcoming! The decor is so unique, yet works so well! Can’t go wrong with any of their dishes, but try their Eggs Dianne! Never knew fish cakes could be so good!! Their tacos were amazing as well! Would absolutely return for those fish cakes, and to try out the rest of their menu!

We had lunch here during our day trip to Kingston. We tried the shrimp tacos and the combo fish and chips, both were good. However, we especially loved the smoky flavor and texture of the shrimp in the tacos, which made them delicious.
Since it was a sunny day, we chose to sit on the patio and enjoyed our little “lunch with a view” moment as well.

There was nothing special about the food here. The tacos were very small and quite pricey. The fish taco was alright, the fish itself was small, breading wasn’t too light and the fish wasn’t incredibly fresh. The grilled shrimp tacos were slightly better as they had a lot more flavour and seasoning, but was also small. Fish and chips weren’t anything special either. Our server was super nice though.

Was visiting Kingston and decided to try this place out as it was the only one near by that had seafood and I was craving seafood lol. Got seated right away and the place is cozy. Our waiter was nice and helpful when it came to ordering dessert and drinks.
I had fish n chips, which was proper. I enjoyed the batter to fish ratio and how crispy it was. My partner had the lobster on a bun and that was delicious. The calamari was also good, loved the crispness of it, considering some places you go to it can be very chewy. And the dessert that was recommended to us was the perfect thing to top off the wonderful dinner and experience we had.

Excellent food! Service was fast! Haddock fish soup reminds me of my grandmother’s recipe. Absolutely delicious! Must stop to next time your in Kingston, Ontario. when you’re done with dinner, it is a very short walk to the shore side and to enjoy the atmosphere and The view!

This was the second time had a meal in Dianne’s. Our first one was in 2023. We liked the atmosphere and food during our previous visit so we wanted to recreate that experience once more with both our sons. The food is refreshing and tastes good. Our server was cheerful and made us feel comfortable. She checked on us several times.
We ordered tuna poke bowl, lobster roll and fried chicken sandwich. We loved all of them and definitely want to come back again.
