This place is SOLID!!!

I stopped to fill up the car… and I’m glad I did!

The burger was fantastic. The patty was great, the veggies were REALLY fresh, and the bun was top-tier!

I’ve never made a review before, but felt this was necessary. We decided to try somewhere new on our trip back home from Silver Lake. Stopped here to get lunch. We we’re almost done with our meals when I noticed something on my son’s bread. There was mold on his bread. My daughter picked it up and looked at it, then put it down on the plate. The owner came and picked up the plates looked right at it and said nothing. My son that day ended up throwing up. We will not be going back to that establishment. We will stick with Diamond Lake Resort. Much better food and service.

Worst resturaunt I’ve ever been to. Everything was old and really poorly prepared. When politely talking about the food owner got really angry

Humiliating, xenophobic, and proud of it
Absolute worst stop on our Crater Lake trip. My friend (visiting from another country) walked inside to throw away a couple pieces of trash because he didn’t see the outdoor bin by the EV charger. The guy behind the counter immediately starts laughing in his face, mocking him like he’s an idiot for not knowing the secret local trash can location. My friend, trying to be polite, asks about the restroom and offers to buy something because of the giant “paying customers only” sign. Employee laughs again, humiliates him even more, and snaps, “What do you think this place is?” before walking off.
The second he heard my friend’s accent and I casually mentioned we were coming up from California, the vibe turned ice-cold. Yeah, I know, it’s apparently a literal crime to be from California around here guilty as charged. Add a foreign visitor into the mix and suddenly we’re public enemy #1. Blatant profiling of both an out-of-state plate and someone from another country.
I ended up buying a hot chocolate just to have a receipt, it was watery, lukewarm, and forgettable.
This isn’t quirky small-town attitude; it’s straight-up hostile and humiliating. Travelers are the only reason this place exists, yet they treat anyone who isn’t a regular like absolute trash. Skip it. Plenty of friendlier stops on 97. Never coming back.

Stopped by this place for a quick bite and restroom break after driving around Crater Lake. There’s a sign stating you must make a purchase before using the restroom, which is fine—but when an elderly woman came in, the man running the place refused to let her use it until she ordered first.

When I went to check the women’s restroom, I didn’t even bother using it—it looked filthy, with what appeared to be rat droppings around the base of the sink. My boyfriend let the man know, and his response was that he’s a “one-man show” and doesn’t have time to clean. He insisted it was just insulation and even suggested my boyfriend clean it himself—what the heck? And there was no soap in either restroom.

Cleanliness is one of the most basic expectations for any diner, especially when serving food. We paid for our order to-go but decided not to eat or drink anything. To top it off, the receipt showed a $1.50 self-added tip.

The sign out front says there’s another place just 7 miles down the road—honestly, I recommend driving the extra few miles.

As my EV limped into the adjacent Supercharger station I saw the sign “EAT”. My battery was empty so I strolled in hoping I somehow missed the outdoor patio where my 4-legged travel buddy could join me (spoiler: no such luck). Also missing were vegetarian/vegan options so, I settled on take away fish and chips. I don’t partake regularly, however, they were extremely tasty and would order again.
Huge thank you to the restaurant proprietor for bringing my sunglasses out to my charging car.

Sadly a missed opportunity. I have charged my car here many times while driving up and down 97. The restroom previously said not working. Now there are nice new signs stating that it is for restaurant patrons only. And no effort by owner to make the restaurant more friendly to passers through here for 15-20 mins while charging. There’s a constant influx of EV owners who would welcome a coffee, quick salad, sandwich or other healthy snack or meal to go. But the restaurant is unwelcoming, and today it’s almost 1p on a Saturday and it’s closed. Why not paint, put up a sign, serve coffee and snacks to go, make the restroom useable, even have a high end vending machine for off hours purchases? Sell local pies or other baked goods? Make it a nice and welcoming business instead of hostile and desolate? Just a suggestion.

Classic rural diner, and right next to brand new EV (Tesla) chargers. Owner was welcoming and cooked me up a deliciously messy mushroom burger. Definitely worth the stop!

Try the Big Ugly! I didn’t, but I’ve heard stories about it-it’s a legend. I had to settle on the Mt. Thielsen. It was a perfect burger. They only use Oregon grass fed beef. I mean, I love to complain about businesses if they deserve it but it takes more motivation to leave a good review because businesses are supposed to do things “good” as they are taking our money as customers. I had to leave a review here where it was certainly due. One of a kind atmosphere you can only find in the middle of…. Nowhere.

The burger was great, fries could’ve been a bit better but we had a good meal. The owner seemed a nice guy. Good spot where we will for sure stop again when traveling north or south.
