Diamond Knot Brewery & Alehouse

Social Profile:

Diamond Knot’s original brewery and alehouse is in a building that has housed a pub for over 20 years. Before the building became a pub, it was a bus garage used by the local transit company and the main roll-up door can still be seen just inside our front door. The original thick, sturdy wooden beams and open plank ceiling, give the building a wharf-like atmosphere that fits perfectly with our nautical feel and the waterfront on which we are located.

Relaxed brewery & restaurant serving regional beers & classic pub grub in a low-key space.

The Diamond Knot Brewery is our favorite place to hang out and get drinks!! The food is great and so are the house beers and ciders! My fiancé and I love going here to play cards, eat the peanuts, and grab a bite to eat 🙂

I don’t know why I hadn’t eaten here yet, after having enjoyed Lighthouse Park for years, but I finally made it in yesterday.

Upon recommendation from a past server who I know from a local gym, I tried the stuffed, giant tater tot and fish and chips, both of which defied my expectations.

I thought the fish was perfect and I really enjoyed the housemade sauces that made the meal extra special. Generally I don’t care for tartar sauce, but theirs was delicious!

The housemade coleslaw was very good, and I was pretty happy with the fries.

Although the food was filling, it wasn’t overly heavy, which I appreciated.

Fantastic service from Halle and Emily. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and I’ll be bringing friends in soon!

The drinks were okay. We ordered their Reuben sandwich served on a hot stone, tasted okay but for the price, it wasn’t worth it. The same goes to the Cuban sandwich that was drenched in so much oil. Try Ivar’s or Hook and cleaver if you’re in the area, skip Dimond Knot.

I visited after 1 to miss the lunch crowd. The place was fairly quiet. A bowl of peanuts welcomed me.

I had their jalapeno popper burger with fries. The burger was great! Not too spicy (for me). The fries were nice and crunchy.

The staff was friendly and not bothersome like some places.

I’ll visit again. You should give them a try.

Food was average, staff was friendly. The entire place smells like the men’s room. We were able to find a far away table to at least get through the meal. There are several TVs but they refused to turn the volume on for a football game so we settled the tab and left.

Surprisingly, good food and beer in a historic place.
We’ve been walking by multiple times, and it didn’t look too attractive from the outside, but I found out this place is a piece of local history and decided to give it a try. No regrets, the place is great, with a very cozy atmosphere, cool music, super friendly staff, tasty food and nice selection of fresh beers. Loved the vibe. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Delicious food and well presented. A little bit of a wait on food so give yourself plenty of time to account for that. Probably looking at 25 minutes or more from when food is ordered but worth it. Friendly staff and plenty of different drinks on hand for those into the brewery side. Pricing is fair. Thanks

If you know us, we are the type of people who don’t go out to eat much unless we’re travelling. We’ve been travelling for the last month. We eat at home not for any other reason than there are no good restaurants anywhere around us without driving for an hour or more. Another reason is the fact that we’re both good in a kitchen, grill, or smoker. That said, when we go out to eat, we often have to judge what we eat against what we make at home or against the best we’ve had at another restaurant somewhere.

Last night, we wanted to take our daughter, Kennedy, to a pizza dinner before we left for home today. We thought about a specific spot in Mukilteo, but they are closed on Monday’s, so Chey mentioned Diamon Knot Brewery & Alehouse (A.K.A. DKB&A) and we headed that way. Now, we’ve ‘been’ to DKB&A a couple of times already by way of the ice cream window, and she recalled seeing someone eating a pizza through the side door.

We got seated and handed menus and found that this is much more than pizza! This is a bar and grill, and they have all sorts of things on the menu. Truth is, we all three had to take a few minutes to decide what we were going to have because it all looked so tempting! In the end, it was the Hog Heaven Mac & Cheese, Steak Dip Sandwich, and the Garlic Onion Burger. Spoiler alert! Great choices, all!

As it turned out, we arrived at about the normal time of the other side filling up which caused the kitchen to get backed up a bit. In some cases, this could have been an issue, but we were in no hurry, and Nancy, our server, was very attentive to us and kept us informed about how the kitchen was managing the influx of orders and that we were next.

A couple of minutes later our food was delivered to us and we dug in. All three of us wanted to try each other’s food to see how it all was and, wow. Without getting too wordy about all of it, let me say this, when we try something that wows us like this all did, we start to pick it apart and get an idea as how to make it at home. Not to make it better at home, but to enjoy it at home because it became a favorite! This stuff was all so good that we’ve decided to leave things alone and just go back when we return in a few months!

I kid you knot (pun intended) the garlic onion burger was phenomenal! I would have never thought to build a burger with the ingredients used in this thing! While the ingredients really don’t seem like they belong on a burger, this was nothing short of genius!

The same could be said for the steak dip sandwich. The sandwich itself is pretty much a Philly cheese steak, but the au jus was something else! I’m not sure what went into it, but it made the whole thing great!

Finally, and this one gets me because I make a great pulled pork and Chey makes (in the opinion of many) the world’s best mac & cheese, why we never put the two together really makes me wonder what’s wrong with us! Again, this was a perfect pairing of two great Southern comfort foods and together they made beautiful music!

As good as the food can be, service will kill a restaurant faster than bad food, at DKB&A, Nancy made sure we were cared for. Our drinks never went dry, and she kept us informed about the wait we incurred. She worked hard for us, and I’ll explain that next.

During the rush, our food was delayed. No big deal in the grand scheme of things, but the Hog Heaven Mac & Cheese came out cold. Nancy took it back and ordered another one for us and brought it out as soon as it was done and she let the manager know and he took it off the bill altogether. That was truly kind but certainly not expected, though it speaks to management’s concern for customer satisfaction.

Final note, while a bar and grill, there should be a family friendly dress code on the grill side. One of the servers was dressed in a manner better suited to the bar side of DKB&A. Again, just our opinion since there was a family there with younger children.

Still, with the issues we experienced, we’re looking forward to returning to continue the menu and see just how good this place must be!

We stopped by while waiting for the ferry to Clinton and we’re greeted by Lisa. She was friendly, courteous and generous with her recommendations. We tried the fish and chips and were not disappointed. I also tried their blonde ale and was pleasantly surprised.

Lisa is a local and was kind enough to point out some places to see on our way up to Blaine. We had such a fabulous time that we went back on our way down to the airport.

I was really excited to go here; everything on the menu looked and sounded really good.

The main course was pretty good. However, I’m a tater tot kind of gal and was reeeeeeally disappointed. Both the fries and the tots were way overcooked and flat out, just not good. Both the person I went with and I, neither of us finished the sides, and they weren’t even good enough to take home… :((

Otherwise, besides the waitress forgetting we existed (literally, she told us she forgot she sat us…) the sandwiches we got were really good.

Edit: I’m looking over the pictures, and you can actually see how dry and overcooked both the fries and tots are, even the cheese on the fries look dry.
