We tried this place for dinner. Small town kids from Texas and we enjoyed the feel of the place. If you like good company and great old style blue grass music this is the place to visit. Chicken Pot Pie was amazing.

We really enjoyed our meal. The meatloaf filled half the plate! It was delicious.
The atmosphere was charming, the service was excellent and extremely friendly.
I know it seems silly but they made the best homemade ranch dressing, I now will never use bottled ranch again.
Check them out for a great meal and some fun.

Service was great, drinks were good ,food was average, had a French dip with fries and no tarter sauce, had to use mayo, which was weird but do-able.

Absolutely amazing! Live pianist that totally engages the crowd and keeps it lively.
Food was fantastic, moderately priced. Drinks were good. Enough to get ya a good buzz and not too steeply priced.
Decor matches the theme and though it is pretty tight it still seems pretty spacious.
We had buffalo wings, hot is definitely not hot but they were good. Taco salad was fantastic and the grinder was like nothing I’ve ever had before and sooooo good! I would definitely eat here again if we were locals.

Fun enjoyable atmosphere with an old west themed decor, accented by a piano player extraordinaire! Lonesome Dove meets Durango. This restaurant, well located in old town Durango, was near full capacity, however a table in close proximity to the piano, was found within a few minutes. This very skilled piano player aka the piano man, was the heart and soul of our evening. He was knowledgeable, accomplished playing a variety of favorites, spanning several decades, while also accepting requests. For dinner, the hotel-themed burger w/ fries and a local craft beer was ordered, while my wife ordered the Cobb salad with a glass of Chardonnay. Decent meals w/ decent pricing. The only criticism involves our forgetful waitress. Three times she had to be reminded of our simple request for a straw for our glasses of water. Most restaurants where we have dined instruct the waitstaff to carry straws with them, but apparently not here! Strangely inefficient! Beyond that however was completely forgetting the strawberry ice cream we’d ordered for dessert. Reason, this particular blonde-haired waitress apparently does not consider it necessary to write down the order. This practice is always a major warning sign to me. Come on ownership – instruct your wait staff to write down orders table-side and not to rely on what is often a faulty inefficient memory! Seems intuitive to me and a basic fundamental when serving customers. Kitchen confidential, I wondered how renowned chef and food critic Anthony Bourdain might have opined under similar experiences. Though disappointed by our waitress’ inattentiveness to our order, will we return? Yes!

This is a must see if you go to Durango. Historic, mindfully restored, friendly service and great entertainment the night we were there. We didn’t stay at the hotel.

Neat experience with a live piano playing. Customer service was great! Seated pretty quickly. The food was phenomenal. Chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Pot roast was placed over mashed potatos. Bourbon mix drink options were also great! It’s a little tight for seating though.

Highlight of my trip. The bartenders were nice enough to grab me a beer even though they were relieved at 10 rather than 11 for Mother’s Day. I’ve always wanted to check this place out and they went above and beyond to teach me the history of the Strater.

Old West vibe. The restaurant is connected to the old hotel and the staff is dressed like saloon girls and gentlemen.
The menu is pretty limited. We had the pot pie and meatloaf. It was fresh and you could tell. Like they cooked it just for us even we got there.
The place is a little small and we meter parked but for free. The Strater motel looks like it would be a fun place to stay.

I’ve always loved visiting the Diamond Belle Saloon — the atmosphere is wonderful, the food is always great, but most importantly, it’s the people like Erik Rios who truly make the experience special. He’s not only an excellent bartender but also someone who brings warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality to every guest he serves.
It was very disappointing to hear that he’s no longer there — the place simply isn’t the same without him. I truly hope management considers bringing Erik back, as his presence made such a positive difference and kept so many of us coming back time and again.
