My nephew was in between matches at the 2026 VHSL wrestling tourney so I ducked out and found the nearest taco place. Wow! What an unexpected find!
I asked the server what I should have and she recommended the chilaquiles. I went with medium heat and the dish was just perfect! Served fast, served delicious, great service and at a real value. Glad my son lives nearby in Roanoke. We’ll be back to try the rest of menu when in town. Highly recommended!

One word: TAMALES
OK, We’ve been to five Mexican restaurants in the Roanoke Valley looking for this restaurant… What I mean by that is AUTHENTIC REAL MEXICAN food.
Some places have some good items, but this one is all-around the very best.
You haven’t had a real tamale till you’ve had one of their tamales and they have a nice varied selection. I’m a meat eater. My husband’s a vegetarian …they were wonderful…
The beans were wonderful.
The salsa was tasty. Everything at this restaurant is the real deal…. And the family that owns it is adorable and very pleasant.
The decor is like you’re in a real Mexican corner restaurant in Mexico City…it’s a tiny but mighty place! Enjoy!

I’m from Louisiana and used to live in Texas so I’m very particular about Mexican and tamales. The “white sauce” nonsense in Virginia Mexican restaurants is such a red flag. But this place is white-sauce-free! (Keep your miracle whip out of my Mexican tyvm) The chips and salsa are so good here and I would drink the tomatillo salsa served with tamales if they gave me enough. Always excellent service and excellent, authentic, homestyle food. Worth the drive out to Salem!

Nice little hole in the wall with great food. Ordered the lunch Mexicana fajita which has chicken beef and shrimp. The price was very reasonable for the amount of good you get. Everything was very tasty. The waitress was extremely nice.

I went here for the first time after wanting to try the tacos. They didn’t have the tacos I wanted, Cochinita. My heart was set on it but I ended up ordering a Carnitas Burrito last minute and my husband got the Diablo Burrito.
As soon as I took the first bite I was so happy. The burrito was delicious!! My husbands was also equally good. Hard to say which burrito was better because they were different.
The Diablo was spicy which we love. It was a nice size. I will say easily the best burrito I’ve had in Roanoke. It was made as it should be. No excess sauces inside, no cheddar cheese but Mexican cheese, very simple. You could taste each element and although a burrito is not as healthy as a taco, I could see everything and knew what was in it.
Free chips and salsa is always nice to see. Especially since people want to charge now a days. I’m looking forward to going back.

I’ve only successfully managed to eat here twice over the past year. The hours listed on Google are inconsistent, the facebook page is no better.
Showed up at 10:20 today to no lights on, no workers, and no response on the phone. Don’t waste your time driving out here for good food, they probably wont even be open

I been told I’m a picky eater but this place here was a 10/10 everything to the chips was hot and delicious. I was very pleased with my meal! If you looking for good food don’t look any farther. this place is it!!
