My son Bear and I wandered in on Veteran’s Day— I was looking for some good Chili on a chilly day and my four year old wanted a classic burger.
First and foremost— I had no idea Desi had an offshoot burger restaurant. I’m not a fan of the viral slap burger. We love the classic BYO burger. I’ve lived here in BSJ for over a year, and in SE LA for almost eight years.
Desi Prime Burger is the perfect spot to take a little one and get that good beef without the pressure of fine dining with a small child at their flagship.
Our server Reneé took very good care of us in every sense of the word from start to finish l.
I ordered the Chili and a Paloma with a Tajin Rim courtesy of Dusty the bartender who improvised for me.
Bear decimated his burger— BYOB—was built with prime beef chuck, a thick layer of cheddar, extra pickles, hickory BBQ and Creole mustard on a Brioche bun. Served medium rare.
We will definitely be coming back as the hospitality, ambiance, and food fit the vibe we were seeking. Also that Paloma with the Tajin rim was chef’s kiss

Our party of 4 was seated at 6pm, just before a rush, on Thursday. No reservations permitted. Our server, Latisha, was attentive and efficient. She was new but got our order right and checked on us just enough. 3 of us had the smash burgers and one had a turkey burger. The smash burgers were proclaimed excellent while the turkey burger was very good (some bites had a bit of a strong flavor, as is usual for turkey). Sides were baked potatoes, onion rings, and tater tots and all very good. The wines (white and pinot noir) were fine if a bit overpriced. The place looks nice, casual with big TV screens at the bar. It wasn’t overly loud even with the wide open spaces and hard surfaces. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I came here after a long day of playing tourist in the city. The bartender Brittany hooked me up with a King Cake Martini unlike any I’ve ever tasted my husband had a spiced old fashion which she recommended and he absolutely adored it. We m asked for recipes she told us we would just have to come back because everything was out of her brain. We had the “Philly burger” (not on the menu) which was phenomenal but could have done without the jalapeños. I had a double smash and that was the bomb.com also GARLIC PARM FRIES ARE A MUST. I recommend getting a side of garlic aoili and A1 to dip them in. We watched the game had some drinks and even though we live in Covington we will definitely be back to see Brittany. I juat wish we would have saved room for her King Cake Milk Shake. She was phenomenal. Witty, joke cracking and always with the quick draw when our drinks got low. We cant want to come back more and see her and indulge in more decadent burgers. At this point, I need Brittany to work every day so we know she is there anytime we want to just jump in the car and go!

We went inbwith high hopes, we normally go to the Metairie location. I ordered the usual Desi Burger. Lol, thosbone was not the normal one we get, it was a shrunken version of what use to be. I literally only got half of a top bun. The waitress came to the table four times. Once to take the order, next was to deliver drinks, next to deliver what was suppose to be burgers, and finally to asknifbwe wanted drinks to go and drop off the bill. I promise I will never be back to this location and will read reviews before considering going back to Metairie. Ask about a special below in the review. Yes, pay full price for half of a meal, works not great for your overhead!

My girlfriend was excited to take me here. Heard top voted burger place in Nola and I was down with that.
From the beginning it was just not great. The guy at the door stared at me for a solid 30 seconds before asking me if it was for 2, then sat us down and our server came got our drink order.
Then went down hill, they weren’t that busy, the poor waiter looked alone while Mr.Monotone at the front podium did nothing at all the entire time we were there.
I waited about 10 minutes before my waiter came and asked what we wanted, I said I may want a milkshake after the meal.
No one came and checked on us asking if we needed more drinks and I finally had to ask Mr.Monotone to refill me, he didn’t dump any of the previous watered down coke , and then gave me Diet Coke. Big different in asking “can I get a COKE “ vs a DIET COKE. “ finally the actual waiter fixed the drink.
Food took 25 minutes to get there 2 burgers by the way, and then when we finished, gave us a box with no check, and asked us if we wanted the milkshake too. At this point I was over the experience, and the waiter told me “ you just saved my butt because the bartender would have been mad if you wanted a milkshake…. Mind you this is 8pm roughly.
I had to walk up to the register to get my bill 5-7 minutes later and paid up front.
Before leaving, another gentleman near us wanted a milkshake to go and The Bartender said verbatim, “ I will make you one but I’m not happy about it! “ yelling that across the restaurant.
Listen if you don’t want to do your job, go find another. Terrible customer service and you want us to pay $15+ for a bikini bottom meal from Burger King. It wasn’t anything special.
Overall, very disappointing. Will not recommend anyone going there until there employees stop hating their jobs.

We ordered more food even though we were full… These burgers are so good and even better rare. The fries are addicting and the milkshake is a must have. Please don’t ruin this glorious meat by ordering a well done burger.

My husband and I ate here last Sunday and had the most amazing experience! Not only was the food AMAZING but the service was unmatched! Brittany W not only was attentive and polite but was so informative on each menu item and even had the perfect cocktail to go with meal we picked. My husband and I had the best time and will definitely be back again. I highly recommend being served by Brittany it’s an experience you won’t find anywhere else. She will leave you with your belly’s full and smiles on your face! 10/10 highly recommend

The sliders were tasty—definitely above average—but just shy of five-star. We came in toward the end of happy hour and didn’t realize it until we asked about the menu, and our server seemed a bit less than enthusiastic about it. Service felt average, though it could have just been an off day. Overall, the food was decent and slightly above average, but not quite the same experience as their Metairie restaurant location. Still a nice option if you’re nearby.

I decided to go here due to the love that I have for the steakhouse, but I had no idea of the experience I was about to have at this burger restaurant. It began with the awesome service from our server Rachel. She was extremely polite and super tentative, plus she had full knowledge of the menu. I ordered the Early Bird burger, in which I wanted it cooked between medium and medium well, and Rachel captured and entered in the order accurately, word for word. The food arrived nice and fresh and in a very timely manner. I took a bite into the burger and when I tell you that it was one of the best burgers I had in my life, and I have had a good bit of life and a lot of great burgers. The chef absolutely nailed the cook temperature because a lot of times most chefs either cook it too medium or too well, but this was perfect. I’m a burger lover and this was an absolute burger experience. I know somebody else out there knows what I mean. I’ll tell you though, between Rachel, the chef, and the food, I would give them 6 stars if it was available!

Last night a group of us came in. We ordered cocktails, the chicken wings, potato skins, and their cheese dip for appetizers then burgers for dinner. I couldn’t believe my server knew what a Hugo Spritz was and that she made its for me perfectly. We had a cozy booth the 5 of us, a little tucked away nook. Our drinks were phenomenal and our server was amazing and attentive. It was our first time in and we cant wait to go back and visit Brittany. I’m a little disappointed I didn’t get her recommendation on the burger of the month but I went more classic for my first time. Will be back if I could give more stars I would.
